No Smart Meter Monitor

Options
When we moved into our property last year the previous owners didn't leave us a monitor. My energy company say I need to buy one off Amazon. Any recommendations please? Its a smets 2 and they've credited me with £15

There are replacement IHDs available to buy.
Hildebrand sell their IHDs from their glowmarkt shop (link). Stock availabiltiy is patchy but, if out of stock, they will let you register an interest.
Or there's the ivie Bud, sold by Chameleon (another of the common IHD suppliers) from the ivie shop (link).
There may be other options; I don't know of a retail souce for Geo IHDs but their website is here (link) and you could contact them if you'd prefer one of their products.

DO NOT buy one from Amazon as it will not work. All IHD/CAD devices that connect to your smart meter communications hub have to be paired securely with the hub by a Registered DCC User or Registered DCC Other User. Both Chameleon and Hildebrand sit in the Other User category.

Your energy company will need to pair whatever meter you buy anyway, so you really need to go back to them to ask what you can buy and where from, as they'll need to approve it's use.

That's not entirely true, both Hildebrand and Chameleon (ivie) are DCC users and can pair their IHDs without supplier involvement.
