What's the best way to remove these weeds from between the small paving blocks on drive?

This is at my mums house, currently vacant after she passed late last year - is there some kind of tool you can get to like scrape them out? Or is some kind of weedkiller the only solution for these? I'm a complete non-gardener at the moment!

I use a weed brush on mine, it's like a wire brush on the end of a long handle.
They will keep coming back if you don't fill the cracks but it's a relatively painfree way of getting rid of them, i just give my patio a brush every couple of weeks and it seems to do the trick.- May 2021 Grocery Challenge : £198.72 spent / £300 Budget

I didn't even know such a thing existed. I shall pick one up tomorrow, thank you!!

Or spray the area with weedkiller.
Pulling them out or raking them out may not remove the deeper roots so will grow back quickly - brushing sand back over the pavers will fill the area back again too.
If it's just being done to sell though brush/rake as it's not your problem how it goes !0 -
you need one of these weed brushes, brilliant without requiring too much effort. Most major DIY/garden centres sell them.

I found kneeling and a hand wire brush worked better and quicker.Weedkiller didn't work for me but a quick brush once a monthI did use a half and half soloution of bleach and quickly scrubbed the blocks with a yard broom, left it for half/ a day and rinsed with a bucket of water giving it a brush down. It cleans the blocks up a lot.A clean path sets the house off a treat.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

As others have said a weed brush is about the best thing, i have been using a roughneck one and you can purchase extra screw on heads online but most bargain stores have those wooden ones you can pick up for about a fiver.Enjoy everyday like it's your last!0

Most effective thing I've found is a decent gardener.
I wonder if you are trying to spruce up your mom's house ready to sell? In which case a decent gardener can be a miracle worker and get the outside looking spiffing in a relatively short amount of time.
We were both ill a lot last year and did nothing with our garden as a result - didn't even cut the grass. (side excuse - great for the bugs and bees). I spotted a neighbour had a gardener tidying up and asked him for his prices. £20 an hour for each of 2 people, he recommended a 4 hour slot plus extra to take away the pruning, cut grass etc. £190 all in and I now feel like looking at the garden rather than just cringing. If I was putting the house up for sale the photos would look good and while it's obviously not perfect anyone who likes a garden would be able to see the possibilities and not be concerned about it being a massive job to put right.
They also got rid of all the weeds in the patio and drive too. It's lovely.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
