Just looking for advice I've never claimed on travel insurance before and have leisure guard standard cover:

Policy wording is here:

So here's what has happened, flew into Heathrow from Manchester on Friday lunchtime, was just waiting for gate to be given for flight to Las Vegas. Then less than an hour before departure we got notice that flight was cancelled!

So here's what has happened, flew into Heathrow from Manchester on Friday lunchtime, was just waiting for gate to be given for flight to Las Vegas. Then less than an hour before departure we got notice that flight was cancelled!
British airways provided zero customer service as couldn't even speak to them as number they say I need to call to sort alternatives flights/travel back to original destination was cutting off.
So was stuck in London completely gutted and knackered, then get offer of an American Airlines flight albeit 2 days later and think let's do it even though its a much shorter trip.
Now due to Americas entry policy we had to test at least day before travel. Now I was negative and had done this on Thursday, so had to do another one on Saturday to get on flight. Think you can guess what happens next?
Had felt a bit rubbish, headache and sore throat but thought it was just because I was knackered and stressed with flight been cancelled but no I was positive for covid so obviously couldn't board the alternative flight with American Airlines on the Sunday. So me and my wife booked a train home from Heathrow as BA were terrible and no flights back to Manchester.
So under my insurance I have submitted a claim for abandonment for first flight and then claimed for cancellation on second flight.
BA have refunded me full price of holiday and I've submitted EU compensation for flight been cancelled plus expenses for food/hotel.
However not sure what to expect to get paid from leisure guard as have no clue on specific terms plus I did get full refund from BA although waiting for funds to hit account.
Any help or advice as I've ready policy terms but not 100% sure

What exactly have you been unable to claim from BA other than the extra covid test? Were these things that you attempted to claim but were rejected or that you didn't attempt to claim?0

Well BA 'should' refund me cost of hotel and food under letter i receivedat airport, I'm reading this takes a couple of months.
I paid for train home and covid tests which I don't think they will cover but might.
As I've said not sure how it works as I got full refund from BA (still awaiting funds) will this insurance cover just those two items I guess? As insurance will just pay out where I am out of pocket with no general payments for delay/cancellation?
