Good morning, frosty again today 🥶
Still full of cold🤧🤧 but still testing negative, feeling very sorry for myself. I'm watching escape to the sun and cheering myself up looking online at properties for sale in Spain, I can dream😎🤣🤣
Nanny that's awful, I hope the bus company are sorting it out.
Not doing much again today, might plant some more cucumber seeds 🥒as only 2 have germinated of the ones I planted and they're not looking very healthy
Have as good a day as you can🌻12 -
Morning everyone
Just a quickie from me as I'm going down to mam and dads for lunch, my brother is coming from Gateshead - we haven't seen him for ages as he had Covid at Christmas and has been working at weekends and then ill again. So we have Christmas presents to open which seems a bit bizarre!
Little one stayed last night and snuck into my bed in the early hours - I woke up and took ages to get back to sleep.
My niece and her partner and little great nephew came up this morning as it's his 5th birthday today - he was happy with his presents. Little one had been warned not to try to open them and was very good! He had been offered a party, but chose to go swimming and then Mcdonalds with his mum and dad . He has a new bike so said he wants to practise on that later.
Snoozer - I hope everything goes well for Laura.
Bella - your holiday sounds amazing - I would love some warm sunshine.
Nannywindow - oh no - what an awful thing to happen. I was in the car with DD yesterday and there were some right numpties driving about!
Better go. Hope everyone has a good day x14 -
A late good afternoon to one and all. It's bright and sunny here but chilly, especially at night. Like everyone else, I'm trying not to have the heating on too much but I'm afraid it just has to be at times.
I can't remember who it was on the news earlier today, some Government bod, who said they had no intention of rationing energy in this country. I couldn't help myself thinking, oh yes there will be - it will be self imposed rationing because of the sky high prices.
All today's jobs have been done and dinner is prepped - beef casserole that I did yesterday in the SC, swede, mash and mini Yorkies from the freezer. The BM is whirring away so that takes care of bread for the week.
I went out for a walk earlier while DH had a nap, not for anything specific, just for the fresh air and a bit of exercise. Plenty of spring flowers out to admire but I didn't linger too long as the breeze was decidedly on the cool side. I did pop into the Co-op to see if there were any ys items and came out with a bunch of spring onions and a pack of oven cakes, saved 50p, so a frugal start to the month. The onions are in a glass of water in the fridge to keep them fresh; I'll use some on tomorrow's salad and some in Tuesday's stir fry. Four of the oven cakes are in the freezer and the other two in the bread bin for tomorrow morning's bacon & egg butty.
Last night we watched The Greatest Showman, something I'd been looking forward to, but I was so disappointed because of the sound quality. The songs were fine but conversation between the characters was almost impossible to hear. Why do they have to whisper and mumble so much? Grr. We'll be watching the last episode of Peaky Blinders tonight and then I think it will be off to bed as there's nothing else we fancy watching.Ouch to the sinus pain OrkneyStar, glad you’re feeling better now. Enjoy your trip away.
bellabella, that change in temperature must have come as a shock to the system! Glad you enjoyed your holiday though.
Pleased to hear things are going in the direction for your mum, Nels. Enjoy your pj lazy day.
Happy sewing TA.
I love my air fryer izzy, it definitely saves on the leccy!
Take all the hugs you need, nanny. What a dreadful thing to happen.
Ooo, late Xmas pressies, dp1. Maybe not the right time of year but I’m sure they’ll be appreciated all the more for waiting.
Hugs to those who need or want one, take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
Nanny, had the driver "drifted off"? Maybe ask any of your neighbours with CCTV if the bus's antics were caught on camera?2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Hi all. I'm another one who hasn't posted in a while. Life seems to have got in the way and I've not had the energy to do much. Not ill, just having work issues and it's taken a bit of a toll on me. Still, am making plans now and the act of taking control has made me feel better already. Today's been a weird day, was up early and nipped to the shops in bright sunshine. It was cloudy by 12 when I met a friend for lunch and now it's raining
Lunch was good, Tex-Mex, and a good natter helped me relax. Nothing planned for this evening, probably just TV. I always enjoy Jane McDonald's travel programmes so I'l watch her in the Caribbean tonight, since it's the closest I'll ever get to being there
Hope everyone is well and you all have a lovely end to the weekend. D

Been to Church this morning then went home and baked sausage rolls for cafe Church at 4pm - first afternoon service since Covid.
Tragic news - chap who drowned here on Thursday trying to rescue his dog from the sea is a friend's daughter's partner - only young with two children.
So many in my area with Covid - think it is a good job that schools broke up for the holiday on Friday..Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
