Block paving = weeds within a year. Anyone know if resin would be different? Pressure wash once a year enough to stop weeds from growing in the settled "dust"?
weeds grow in the settled dust but they are absolutely tiny and die ion their own. they are incredibly rare too I don't get many.
Moss is more of a problem, every year need to hypochlorite it in spring to get rid of it

Sealer doesnt prevent weeds, seeds get into the sand and it's an endless battle every year.

I used to use a roofers torch with a large bottle of propane but the price has shot up to silly levels now so will just have to do it manually.

Waste of money sealing your block paved drive. We did ours, looked OK for a while, but it doesn't stop the weeds and eventually the sealant wears off. We had ours professionally pressure washed and re-sanded just before we put the house up for sale which helped give a very good first impression of the house.

We've got a horrible concrete drive now which is being wrecked by the building work we've got going on. We're thinking of tarmac as being the least maintenance option when we have the concrete replaced. Certainly not going to block pave again.

I replaced our block drive with tarmac a few years ago, I would highly recommend it. I love the look of resin bound drives but I'm not paying that money for something outside that has to suffer all that is thrown at it.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

We've toyed with resin bound, but our drive has a slope on it and I've experienced walking up slippery resin bound drives when it's icy and don't want to have one like that.

Resin drives look bad initially,  and awful after a few years, imo.
Block paving is the worst drive type, except for all the others...

You can buy fine sand with weedkiller in it. No idea how effective or long it lasts.
