Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark, cold start to the day. Yesterday was a mixture of sun, hail and rain - we'll see how today goes.
DH watching catchup tv, DS1 still in his pit, and I'm enjoying my first cuppa whilst on here.
Dinner last night was breaded chicken, chips and beans for the menfolk. I had fishcakes and veg. Not sure about tonight.
I got done what I wanted yesterday so pleased with that.
Keep safe and well x

Morning folks and thanks NMLC.. A glorious sunrise here but it didn't last! But at least no snow, sleet, hail or rain is forecast although it's not any warmer!
A quick trip into town on the first bus as there are a few bits I am needing. I'll still need my winter woollies on. Apparently a new bargain basement shop has opened in town (that makes a change they are all shutting!) so I may poke my nose in there and see what's what if I can cope with the excitement!!
Nothing major planned for when I get back but. as usual, there are jobs waiting if I feel so inclined!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need of them. Thinking of all our poorlies, poorly loved ones and the convalescing. NRA, NELS, POPPY especially. Take care one and all and be safe xx

Morning folks.Blue skies and a very chilly wind are waiting for me outside.Yesterday I was about to go out when I realised just how cold it was so didn't go. The frost barely thawed all day. I ended up pottering around the house, doing the boring banking stuff and more scanning - that'll finally get finished this morning. A passing neighbour called in for a cuppa and a natter, her lovely dog sat on my feet for a while. 😀 Eventually I managed to upload my electricity meter reading to the company's website, the bill was emailed to me within hours.
Today is open for me. If the sun gets a bit warmer and the wind drops I'll go in the garden to plant the tow everlasting sweet peas which I bought the other day. Some soup will have to be made as I had the last portion yesterday. My only plan is to watch the first episode of Slow Horses, I really enjoyed the book so am looking forward to the programme.Lovely news about your DM Nelski, I hope her improvement continues.Snoozer - what a tease!
TA - enjoy your new bargain shop.Camelot- first day of the holidays, relax into it.Lots of thoughts to all our poorlies and those looking after family members.Happy Saturday to all.15 -
Good morning
Very cold outside🥶, matches the stinking cold that I seem to caught 🤧
I am testing everyday and negative so far🤞I think it's become a habit to think that every ailment is covid.
I had a lovely walking holiday with my sister, the weather was amazing, we did 70 miles but didn't lose any weight as we found very good places to eat. We did a mix of coastal and inland walks and also looked around 4 castles 🏰
Thinking of all the sad, worried or unwell
Have as good a day as you can 🌻13 -
Morning All
Cold again this morning but if there was a frost it has now thawed. WM chugging away, will strip the bed get that done too, it should dry outside today.
First day of the holidays, I was looking forward to a good long sleep but it didn't happen, maybe tonight! Lots to do today - shopping, library and allotment (time to put the onions in). Also need to sort the bit of the garden that the new greenhouse is going on so lots to keep me busy.
Glad you enjoyed your walking holiday Sunflower.
Pleased to hear your DM is doing well Nelski.
Thinking of the poorlies and those struggling with life.
Have a good weekend, take care. XX13 -
Good morning all, managed a lie in today- didnt wake until 7.20. Dog been walked & breakfasted.DGS football match is a later kick off, 10 o clock, so it's nice not to have to rush off.I managed to make my Scotch eggs before tea last night. DGD was keen to help me squish the sausagemeat and minced pork
, DGS looked sick at the thought
. She's always been into messy stuff starting with playdough, & progressing to making her own slime, which was a bit of a craze a year or 2 back on American UTube videos and mixing her own cake and biscuits up.Well I'd better stir my stumps and get ready to go out, & I'll wish you all a good day x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Hi everyone,
Gers, I am tempted to reveal all but I typed out what had happened yesterday and I couldn't bring myself to post it. It's a mixture of good and possibly bad news, we have to wait and see.
Steve is just ack from the GP, having had his stitches out. I must say, when I saw his wound after he had first done it I didn't think they'd be able to stitch it together as well as they did.
I got most of the sewing I wanted to do finished yesterday, I have about half an hours worth to do today. I think we'll have an hour or so in the garden as well, tidying up the last of the herbaceous plants before they really start growing again. We need to replace a few that have died this year.
Hugs to those who are poorly or with poorly loved ones,
Have a good day.

Good morning everyone
Nice and bright here this morning but was frosty earlier.
Little one came for her tea yesterday and we had a play in her sand as the sun was shining. She didn't stay but will tonight as DD is going to a friends house. She kept saying 'but Friday is sleepover day Granny.'
I have some ironing to do this morning and will go down to dad's laptop jobs - my brother is coming for lunch tomorrow so will get everything done today. DD is sending her weekly email today.
She is away on her travels again today - she has a work trip to London Sunday night till Thursday but added on a trip to Brighton today to visit a friend from uni. She'll stay with her tonight and go to London tomorrow night - where she is staying in a very expensive hotel, paid for by work! I'm quite envious.
The jet washing got done yesterday - my paving stones look lovely!
Gers - I didn't know there were everlasting sweet peas - I'll have to have a look for some. I love sweet peas.
Camelot - enjoy your Easter holidays. We have another week at school here.
Sunflower - hope your cold doesn't last too long.
TA - enjoy your trip into town.
The doctor rang yesterday - my blood tests were all fine - so I've got long Covid. I was reading about some supplements so asked her about them - her reply was that they'll not do any harm, but don't spend too much on them! They may help, they may not. Still waiting for results of my chest Xray.
Well I'm going to get one - hope everyone has a good day today. Take care x

I bought two plants from M&S food hall. https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/9853/lathyrus-latifolius/detailsI hope that your long Covid isn't too long!My new batch of lentil soup is bubbling away, I feel so organised.

Dry and bright here but very cold, we had several flurries of snow yesterday but not enogh to settle none due today so I think thats our lot !
Shopping to collect today OH can go while I clean out the fridge and tidy the kitchen and downstairs, I have my work clothes on the go in the wm and a towel load to go in after they can all go on the line today as its quite blowy.
Dinner tonight will be some southern style oven baked chicken with hm chips and I will do some hm coleslaw to go with it. Dd is out tonight on a date with a new young man
so I hope that goes well they are going to a cocktail bar which should be nice, we will be 'baby sitting' big pup.
We got news yesterday that the funeral will be next Friday, they have asked for pieces of music and anything we want to say about my nephew so I will do that later too. His mum does not want a wake which is understandable but maybe we could either go out for breakfast or come here to have some, the service is at 9.30.
Nels I am glad to hear mum is doing a bit better, sending lots of love xxx
Have good days all xxx13 -
