Just this morning I received a quote from a scheme whereby our District Council did a block deal with local approved installers in Cambridgeshire (Solar Together). Quote for 11 panels is £4964 plus £2947 for a 4.6kw battery. The quote let’s me vary the number of panels and battery size, so 12 panels will be £5315 plus £3758 for a 6.4kw battery.1

Lots of variables that make up a quote but just under £11K for me with 18 panels and 8.2kWh battery. It also includes bird blockers and optimisers for the panels. Oh, and also included 5% VAT (which doesn't apply now).1

I wouldn't bother with the battery, it's unlikely a commercial battery would pay for itself.I paid £7560 for 7.92kw of solar (east/west split) last year. Our quotation is to supply and install 23no. JA Solar 345W monocrystalline modules to the roofs, giving an array with a peak capacity (Wp) of 7.94kWp. The detail is as follows. A. Supply all goods listed in quotation. B. Work to be undertaken by Ecocetera Limited as follows:- • Design and specification of PV system in accordance with relevant small scale embedded energy (SSEG)engineering recommendation G98(2019) and G99, MCS Guidance and current Building Regulations • Provision of scaffolding to both elevations • Installation of MCS accredited roof anchors and module mounting rails • Mechanical and electrical connection of PV array • Installation of Solis 5G 6kW dual MPPT string Inverter (with export limitation if required) • Installation of DC cabling between array and inverter • Installation of AC spur cabling from a dedicated way on consumer unit to location of inverter • Installation of AC isolator at inverter and connection to AC spur • Programming inverter • Testing & commissioning of system • Liaison with Distribution Network OperatorThey did a very very good job, and after one year I can say their projected yield is virtually spot on.1
