£6500 for damage and mileage seems a heck of alot. So just what are the numbers involved here?
I mean take for example...
£1,500 damage, £5,000 excess mileage, average case 20p per mile would equal 25k over mileage.
£3,000 damage, £3,500 excess mileage, average case 20p per mile would equal 17.5k over mileage.
£5,000 damage, £1,500 excess mileage, average case 20p per mile would equal 7.5k over mileage.
It sound suspiciously like the OP has either trashed the car or has absolute blown the mileage having bought totally the wrong allowance to save cost or worst case done both.
Which would mean the VT point is irrelevant - and you can see why the solicitors have been engaged...

I found this on the car expert website (see above) does anybody know of someone who has WON or LOST in court battling excess mileage on a voluntary termination pcp ?
There's a whole section regarding VT on the legal beagles forum - Vehicle Finance and Issues - LegalBeagles Forum
County Court judgements are largely irrelevant unless they're following existing case law, and these were not.
Personally, I'd disagree that the condition of the car is not tied to its mileage, the more miles you put on the clock the more the materials in the car have been stressed. But until this is tested in a higher court than a county one there's no way anyone can say definitively one way or the other, so perhaps people should stop doing that.0 -
