I topped my pre payment meter up last night as I was under the impression that if I topped up before midnight I would be charged at the rate before the increase on April 1st. I'm with British gas who had confirmed this on Twitter. However when I checked my meter had already increased to the new high prices. This shouldn't have come into force until April 1st I topped up at 9pm.

Was there a "close of business" cut off point, e.g. 5pm?
All you can do is contact BG to query it.0 -
It does also depend on what kind of prepayment meter you have.Andria68 said:I topped my pre payment meter up last night as I was under the impression that if I topped up before midnight I would be charged at the rate before the increase on April 1st.
