Overpayment from energy provider
Options
I have recently discovered that my energy provider has been overcharging me on Economy 7, night rate, for the past 45 months, the length of time I have been with them. They were charging me the same rate at night as during the day. I have queried this with them and they have given me a credit of £39.16. I don't believe this to be correct.
I have received an updated statement, but there are only 10 entries for day and night rates, with usage, and costings, but no dates attached.
I provide them with readings every month.
Can anyone advise how much I should expect as a refund?
My energy company is Bulb.
Thank you
Yvonne

You should be able to see all your statements on line if you registered online with them. Or ask them for copies of your bills since youve been with them.0

They have sent an amended statement, but as I said, it has no dates on it. I am assured it covers usage for the past 45 months and there are 10 entries on varying day rates and 10 entries on varying night rates. I have no idea what periods these cover, nor any means of checking them against previous statements. I have looked at my previous statements, but it makes no sense. All my previous statements are done by month.0

It does seem like an under payment for that length of time, one has to ask ' why the amended statement has no dates on it' that sounds suspicious! If it were me Id contact them and ask for dated statements. If you still arent satisfied with their response you can take it to the energy ombudsman.

Thank you.
I have already emailed them and asked for a complete statement for the entire period and for someone to contact me to fully explain how they have come to their conclusions.
I am not best impressed with their refund!0 -

Have you the opening day and night readings from 45 months ago and from today. You should then be able to work out a % split - typically that needs to be 30-35% to make E7 economically viable.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0
