in Energy
The tenants 'In home display' has gone missing. The supplier, Eon Next, is apparently unwilling/unable to provide a replacement.
With the steep increase in prices, people more than ever need to monitor their energy use.
Is this a reasonable attitude on the part of the energy supplier?

With everyone moaning about Standing Charges supplying free replacements for missing item is one more cost that is not required. The tenants could read the meters if they really want to monitor their use

A replacement IHD isn't too difficult to source (e.g. Glow). Getting the energy supplier to authorise pairing of the IHD & meter is going to be the biggest battle. Some suppliers like Ovo & Octopus advertise a fairly painless process, others like SSE need a good kick up the backside. No idea what Eon.Next are like - I'd suggest getting in contact with their meter team and see what they have to say about pairing of third party IHDs.Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.1 -
Thank you.Eon Next are unwilling to provide a replacement IHD - at any price:".......we do not replace them, this is one of our rules set by the business"The so called 'smart' meter is 8ft above the floor. I cannot expect the tenants to safely access and fiddle with the tiny buttons & dim display. There has already been at least one accident!0

If the IHD isn't available then assuming you have internet access, you can also access the readings online. You could provide a simple tablet that could access these readings if they don't have a compatible device such as a phone.0

Many people were provided with an IHD at the time they got their smart meters but don't use them and choose to sell them on. Try searching on eBay; I'm sure you'll find something at an acceptable price.
