My energy provider has today, already created estimated usages for both electricity and gas. These estimates are higher than the actual meter readings I have just taken. Should I still submit my readings or will the energy company still go ahead and use their own est for my next bill. P.S. They have done so in previous months.

If you submit a meter reading it will supersede the estimate and result in the bill being recalculated.1

Let it ride but make sure you have a photo of the actual reading today if required.
Especially if your are not on an existing fixed rate deal.0 -

Always submit your own readings & your bill will be recalculated.

Thank you for the advice. On previous bills, even when a meter reading has been submitted, it always shows their estimate as well as my reading. Gets a bit confusing sometimes when trying to work out usages.0

If you're on the capped Standard Variable Tariff and want the variance to be charged at tomorrow's higher rates, make sure you submit a reading !0
