Possibility of keeping credit card if I change banks

Options
I'm unhappy with my current bank but I love the credit card I've had from them for years.

Question - If I change banks will I still be able to keep the same brilliant credit card?

The possibility of you keeping your brilliant credit card is 100%, unless having a current account is a condition of having the card, which is unlikely.

    If you are using the
    Current Account Switching Service
then only your Current account will move & close. Any other accounts stay where they are.

It'd be interesting to know what happens to products like the First Direct credit card, which is in theory only available to account holders, if you were to switch your First Account away.

I suspect the answer is they don't make you close the credit card.

No they don't. You can only apply for a First Direct credit card if you have their current account (1st account), but there's no requirement to keep the current account once you've got the credit card.

I switched my current account away from FD three years ago, but I've still got my FD gold credit card.

I switched away from one of the big banks - and still have two of their credit cards. So with the above - I don't think it's likely they'll close it - as long as you use it from time to time, and remember to pay it :) (If you want to mention the bank brand - I'm sure someone will be able to confirm from experience that they've also done it)
