Ticket for 'Not parking correctly within the markings of the bay' (B&Q carpark, bays poorly marked?)

Ive had a UKPC ticket for not parking correctly within the markings of the bay, but in my opinion the bays are not actually marked clearly, the whole carpark is made from the brown stone bricks with the bays set out with slightly different colour brown bricks. I did have a wheel on the other side of the brick markings, but have i got an argument that the bays are not clear enough? (see photo). I did go into see the store manager, but they tried and said they couldnt cancel it. Is the area around the tree shadow enough to justify my case?

Yep. Terrible markings.
But of course the NEWBIES thread explains that you won't appeal as driver (so no 'me, myself, I or my') and not till day 25.
All reasoning explained in the Announcement thread.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

It's a failure to maintain. If they jet washed the flagstones regularly any demarcation would be clear.
This is no different from a failure to repaint markings in a car park. The contract for the site should specify who is responsible for that, but if the bay is in essence not clearly marked then the driver cannot ensure s/he parks within it.3 -
has anyone got any more information on hot to appeal a 'Failure to maintain' case? I have done quite a bit of searching but not sure what the next step should be. Or would it be useful to make a call to someone higher up the B&Q complaints ladder, rather than the depot manager?

You don't need any of that at first appeal stage.

RESULT, had this through today. Did have to contact B&Q customer services then just appealed saying markings were not clear enough.

I did find that a polite chat with the store manager was all that was needed to be honest. It goes a long way when you are nice to them and not ranting in their face. Sometimes youve just got to put on a bit of charm.
