I have the same name as my father, his CCJ has just turned up on my credit report.

my father has paid his fine, but the CCJ has appeared on my credit report. (we also have the same address)
I cannot now get a mortgage with my fiancé.
Some credit report organisations have removed the CCJ from my file, but Equifax refuse to do so even with a letter from my father.
Equifax have suggested I talk to the court who issued the CCJ, but the court will not talk to me.
any advice on how I fix this error?
thanks

Your father should Contact the Court and the company who applied for the ccj and get them to correct the records. Neither can speak to you2

I agree with marcia. Your father should be the one to contact the court and the company who applied for the CCJ.
Although the credit report agencies should take notice of what you say because even if you have the same name and address, your dates of birth and credit histories are surely different. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. Issue an official complaint to Experian about this. If they still refuse then refer them to the Informationen Commissioners Office2

Make a complaint to the ICO over the courts refusal to speak to you.It is worth remembering that courts are not particularly competent.0
