in Credit cards
Ticketmaster have eventually deemed to refund me for concert tickets I purchased in October 2019 which after many revised dates is now cancelled. They refuse to refund except to original nationwide credit card which was closed in February 2020.
nationwide say the account has been removed from their systems now so any monies would be returned as unable to process although I still have a current account.
ticketmaster are still refusing to refund any other way and say I should take it up with nationwide. Nationwide say can’t help as no longer any record of account on their system it has been wiped
HELP please

I can't believe that the account has been wiped from their system, as you would still have S75 rights against them for approx 6 years.
Ask TicketMaster for the ARN (acquirer reference number) with date & time of refund. You need to get passed front line staff as it maybe the disputes team that deal with these & will be able to access the account.Life in the slow lane1 -
Your account might appear in online banking but it won't be wiped from their system. Contact Nationwide with the ARN and request the payment be sent to your Nationwide account0

I know it's no help now, but why ever did you close a credit card which you knew at the time had a potential refund due to it? You could have kept the card open but unused and have avoided your current problems. I'm really posting this as a suggestion to others who may be able to avoid a similar situation arising.2

Back in 2020 when I closed the account I was not aware we were going to be hit with covid or that I would be getting a refund On something I purchased back in 2019!1

Make a complaint to Nationwide pointing out that unless they sort things out you will have to make a complaint to the FOS.Refunds to old cards can hardly be a new problem.0

Chino said:sampeterborough said:HELP please11.7 Refunds will be made using the same means of payment as you used for the initial purchase.so unless it can be demonstrated that such terms are unlawful, there wouldn't seem to be a case against them, unless they continue to refuse to refund after the attempted refund bounces back from Nationwide - my understanding is that if Nationwide can't/won't allocate the money to OP then they should reject the refund back to Ticketmaster who at that stage should be prepared to refund to another account, even though they won't do so pre-emptively.
Granted, these issues tend to get messy with each company pointing the finger at the other, which does make it harder to pursue either, but starting with the ARN route posted earlier would seem sensible....0 -
Whoever you spoke to at Nationwide was wrong. They will still have a record of this account on their system, and they will have the facility to transfer the credit balance to a bank account of your nomination.
If Nationwide fail to accept this next time you speak to them, raise it as a formal complaint and it will reach someone who knows what they're doing.0
