Should I accept repair on sofa

Bought new sofas from a local independent. They arrived (after a 3 month wait) and almost straight away I noticed that one of the sofas was creaking on one side and there seemed to be play in the frame. Reported it to the shop about a week after delivery, and they said they'd send someone round to look at it. Someone came round today and (without asking) they did a repair - wood in the frames was cracked at a mitre joint - fixed with glue and 2 screws after the guy removed the fabric on the back and restapled.
It does seem to have cured the creak, at least for now. However I'm not sure how happy I am that it arrived broken in the first place - how long will the repair last? Does anyone know legally where I stand - do I have to accept this repair if it's cured the creak? The guy wanted me to sign to say I was happy but I declined to do this - on the basis that I was happy he had done a repair but I was not certain I was happy it arrived needing a repair.

Well they've at least now had their one opportunity to repair it, and if it has sorted it, then I'd leave it for now.
BUT... if it does break again, then you can reject it for a refund.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
