Eon Next...anyone out there...?
Options
I wanted to send my meter reading to Eon Next and have come up with a host of access issues and barriers:
- I tried the Eon Next App - that no longer works.
- I tried to sign into my account via your website - no joy there either (I tried to change my password but the link says its timed out after a few seconds of receiving it)
- I have tried to call - nothing - no ringing just goes dead.
- I then tried to message via Facebook - issues there too.
We had smart meters fitted last week - however there were yet more issues this time with the signal (not Eon's fault) and they are currently in 'dumb' mode - engineer coming next week to sort. Beginning to wonder if we should switch to a more responsive and accessible supplier!
Anyone else had issues with Eon Next? Any recommendations for a supplier with better customer service...?

A quick look at other threads in this section would tell you that you're far from alone in having issues.2

Millions of people are trying to do the same as you - I would be more surprised if websites didn't collapse and phone lines weren't oversubscribed.4

I was able to send a meter reading to E.on Next just before the site had problems. I have a smart meter but it's not been sending readings since I was moved from E.on Energy to E.on Next in August last year, without any prior warning. My usual bill date is the 22nd of each month. My last bill was the 22nd March. I assumed the reading I gave on the 31st March would be integrated into my next bill on the 22nd April. However, my statement for the reading given yesterday was sent to my email address this morning. I am told my bill has to be paid within 5 days. So I paid my monthly bill on the usual date of 22nd March, and just 10 days later I am sent another bill to pay because I submitted my meter reading earlier to avoid the price increases and am expected to pay that in the next few days. Why cannot the meter reading and charges be added to my statement on the 22nd April? Due to my circumstances, I do not pay by Direct Debit as I like to see how much money I have in the bank before any goes out.0

You have chosen to pay on receipt of bill. You requested a bill. No surprise that you now have to pay it. Customers on monthly DD would also have received a bill in your situation, but it would be covered by their usual monthly payments.

And if you submitted a read on 31 March you will have another day at the old rate estimated because Eon Next bill to the day before the submitted reading. I submitted mine in the early hours of this morning with no difficulties whatsoever and a bill was waiting for me when I got up covering up to and including 31st .

I submitted my reading this morning and my account has been updated. I expect a PDF bill in a day or so.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0

I was just able to log on today, the website advised you didn't need to do anything if you have smart meters as readings would be taken. They took the smartmeter reading on 26/03.0
