Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark, air is cooler than it has been. Rain forecast for today.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and brekkie whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was egg, bacon, hot new potatoes and beans - use up of different bits from the fridge. Tonight I'll be making either shepherds pie or lasagne.
Last day of my working week, off until Monday then next week only working 2.5 days then off on leave - can't wait.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Sunny this morning, should be a nice day. It snowed last night, not a lot but it was definitely snow!
2 days to go until the holidays, I think I really need this rest. It will give me time to get the house sorted out, I feel as if it's all gone to pot!
Finished the little one's cardigan last night, just need to sew it up which is my least favourite job.
Time to get off to work, hope everyone's well or recovering, take care. XX13 -
Morning folks. The stars were twinkling away overnight, such a lovely sight even though it means a chilly night. No snow here and the sky is blue, no heat though.Yesterday my meeting was fine, nothing too exciting but it's good that exams are going ahead this year. Now we have to keep wearing masks in shops and public transport until 18 April. My appointments came through from the hospital for the X-ray on my left hip and the ultrasound injection to my right one, both on 18 April. I was alarmed to read that I can't drive for 24 hours after it so will need to stay overnight in Glasgow.Right, am off now. I hope that everyone is doing OK. Maddie - my thoughts are with your beloved dog.Happy Thursday to all.14

Morning all
Dry and bright here but very cold I turned the heating off a couple of weeks ago but am regretting it now ! Off to work for me and its the three noisy lads day, always good fun but exhausting, I think we will make some cheese scones today.
Dinner tonight will be sausages with a jaclet potato and some salad, dd is out for dinner with her work so no need to cook for her,.
DW to empty this morning and I will put a wash on before I go.
Wanted to send hugs and love to Nels who has such a lot on her plate atm xxxx
Have good days all xxx13 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Well we have the promised snow and it's still coming down thick and fast. Winter is doing it's best to cling on hereabouts. The heating is back on this morning. Since I got the dreaded fuel DD increase notification (it's doubled despite being £177 in credit!!) I have been trying to cut back but I can't do with being cold.
A lovely carvery was enjoyed yesterday and maybe one too many wines but DF and I had a good old natter and put the world to rights as you do. Grounded today so jobs await, especially kitchen and bathroom. I have yet to christen today's eats but will go out for a freezer delve shortly. I shall consult my up-to-date inventory (brag brag!!) first and see what jumps out at me.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all our poorlies, poorly loved ones and of course poorly pets. Thoughts as usual with NELS, NRA and POPPY and hoping the recoverers are recovering. Take care one and all and be safe xx

Morning everyone and thanks for the start nmlc.
DH tested positive for Covid yesterday for the second time as clearly he wants to try ALL the strains. I still had 2 lines on LFT and no taste or smell. Had veggie chilli for lunch which was hot as my tongue was complaining.
I have seen a job advert in another gov dept so am going to apply. Trouble is, we have to tell our line manager which is a bit awkward. I'm worried I'll sully that relationship especially if I don't get the job!!
Hugs for all the poorlies and sad including taff, poppy, NRA and dad, Nelski and mum, Ruby and Izzy.
Have a good day all,

Hi everyone,
It's been snowing here, most unusual but it just turned to sleet and now has stopped so I don't think it will last long. Steve was supposed to be golfing at 8.30 but that's gone by the wayside for the moment.
Steve's tests went well. His heart is perfectly normal except for the partial blockage on one of the nerves which apparently is a very common defect and doesn't affect anything unless the other side gets involved. Upshot was that the consultant was happy that it was a simple faint caused by sudden low blood pressure (explained by the circumstances) and he was quite happy for Steve to resume driving. Cue much relief.
We then drove straight to Laura's and spent yesterday with Esben which is always fun.
Today I want to do some sewing and some planning for the next few weeks when things are likely to be changing in a big way. I'll let you know if and when it is confirmed (something good, not bad).
Thinking of Nels, NRA, Poppy, Maddy and hugs to anyone else who needs a bit of extra comfort atm.
Have a good day.15 -
Good morning, sunny here, but oh so cold. TA and Izzy I don't envy you snow at all.
nmlc thank you for the new thread, great that you have an imminent spell of leave to look forward to. You too Camelot, hope work not too hectic for last couple of days.
Builders were due here today and tomorrow to widen and extend some paved paths, but one of them is still testing positive for Covid, hopefully next week,
OH and I (he does most of the chopping now) and I made a yummy chicken and mushroom stir fry for supper, for once I did not burn myself on the wok, so that's a bonus!
Knit and natter today, will have to wrap up warm, they had a little outing last week while I was away, be nice to catch up with them.
Snoozer great news about Steve's heart. Gers wow so quick for your appointments and a night in your lovely hotel?
Ruby I am standing in line in case there are any spare cheese scones, my absolute favourite, don't have a sweet tooth.
Izzy I just noticed that you have snow too, wrap up well. Coxy bad luck for OH, that's awkward about job applications, hope it works out O.K.
As always hugs to Nelski, Poppy, NRA and all in need of one.
Take care. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)12 -
Morning everyone
We had a couple of snow showers yesterday, but nothing much and then it poured with rain and was really windy all night. Today is calmer but seems just as cold.
DD dropped little one and I off at the library yesterday morning. We had a lovely visit and she was on her best behaviour! She chose about 20 books which I got down to 6! We read some and then she moved onto the craft table, which she loves. Lots of Easter activities - she coloured in Easter eggs and made a lovely Easter box. I suggested we could put some little chocolate eggs in it and give it to great grandad for Easter - so off she runs across to the desk 'Please lady can I have the chocolate eggs?' I explained we'd have to buy those ourselves, but she made everyone smile.
We then walked down to the cafe, where she knows everyone and is much fussed over, she had her usual quarter portion of macaroni cheese and I had a very nice cooked breakfast. Again on her best behaviour and sat really nicely on her chair.
We got the bus home - and both had a nap! Then DD picked her up. I was tired but it was really nice. Little one was so excited when we walked down from the library and there was a flurry of snow - 'it must be Christmas' she shouted!
I'm going to go down to mam and dads for a cuppa this morning and will probably have a lazy afternoon reading.
I need to have a look in the freezer later as I have a Tesco delivery tomorrow - the prices of almost everything I buy seem to have increased by 5p or 10p! I did an update on my weekly outgoings yesterday and I'm £10 worse off each week - which I know isn't a lot to some people, but it is if you need that £10.
I don't really have anything I can cut down on - other than food! I did think about surveys - has anyone any tips?
Right, I'm going to get on. Hope everyone has a good day.
Take care x13 -
Morning all, just taken delivery of my order from MrT. It was cheaper than expected, now you don't hear that often do you? Reason being 13 items out of stock without any subs, and another 4 that were subbed. Really random items too, and I don't believe they couldn't find a sub for an ordinary white loaf! They seem to have had problems for the last few weeks here. Still there are worse problems going on- I'll have to stick the bm on.Quite bright here but frozen this morning, bit of snow last evening, the cold came as a bit of a shock after the spring weather we'd been having thoughTA, get you with the up to date inventory
are you trying to put us all to shame
Hugs to the poorlies and stressed, hope things improve soon x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)10
