Sofology's use of a 3rd Party - Damage to property

Hi, I recently bought a new suite from Sofology (when I say recently, it was 17 weeks ago) and it was finally delivered on Monday (28/3/22), I also paid Sofology to take my old sofas away (£89), which they said they used a 3rd party to do, organised it for the same day as the new ones were delivered. the 3rd party company Clearabee, didnt turn up and eventually (at 5:30pm) rang and cancelled, saying they would collect the next day. I told them I wouldnt be home and would leave them in the back garden, they said that was fine. The next day they arrived, i spotted them on my CCTV and watched them throwing the sofas over the fence onto the road, rather than them walk them around the front of the house and in doing so they have cracked my fence and knocked 2 coping stones from my wall. When I have complained to Sofology, they have washed their hands of this saying I have to deal with Clearabee.... even though I paid Sofology and they organised the original delivery. What are my consumer rights here? Surely Sofology are responsible for their 3rd party supplier?

They are. You have a contract with Sofology and they can't abdicate responsibility.
Hopefully it won't get that far, but if they won't respond, get someone out to provide an estimate to repair the damages, then send Sofology a letter before action asking for the cost, with the threat of court action if they don't comply. It's a slam-dunk case because you have CCTV of their agent not taking reasonable care.3 -
Exactly as above!
Your contract is with Sofology. They will then have to claim from the 3rd party.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0
