Flowering Bulbs

Newbie gardener here. I've read April is a good month to plant summer flowering bulbs. What plants should I look for and where should I buy them (I bought a cheap mixed box of 80 bulbs one year, planted them and about 10 flowered).
Any tips to ensure best results much appreciated.
