Xmas Holidays.

Yeah, was thinking of getting away for a few days, but after reading this, not so sure now.

Gaining Entry
Hopefully you've chosen an unsecured house for squatting, in which case you can walk right in and start settling down. The very first thing you'll need to do is check for mail (see bottom of this page) and make the house secure ASAP.

If you are unable to find a suitable insecure property you may decide to force entry.

Pointless Legal Disclaimer:
Breaking and entering is a crime. We do not advise you to do this. In fact, !!!!!! don't do it you could go to jail. This site will not be held responsible if you get arrested. If you choose to do it please do NOT carry anything related to this site with you!

If you decide to force entry the best plan is to find a number of suitable properties, and then force the back door of each one during the night. Basically walk up and kick it once, as hard as you can next to the lock, then walk away, and do not return to the property for 7 days. The police can only arrest you if somone sees you do it or they catch you doing it!

Don't try all night
If it does not break the first time do not make a second attempt! Consider the property secure and try elsewhere... there is no point drawing attention to yourself! If someone has made that much effort to protect the property it is likely to be checked often.

After 7 Days
You should return to the property at least 7 days later. Bring tools in a toolbox, and where decorating clothes or overalls. Peopl who see you will ignore you. (Burglers don't bring an entire toolbox!) If when you return to a property the door is still broken, you can be sure the owner doesn't really care about the property, and no-one has shown an interest in renting it. Most likely this means it is an unused, unproductive property, and your free to move in.

Squatters rights apply more to empty properties. Not where people have popped out for a pint of milk or gone away for a weekend.

You can't stay in "just in case" ... you'll end up having your shopping delivered at home and working from home if you worry too much.

  • Anyone found squatting in one of my properties will find themselves on the wrong end of a crowbar. Simple as that.

Lets hope the bloke with an unusually large dangly thing doesn't try and squat in your bottom. Enjoy your prison stretch.
