Fixed rate until June EDF
Hi I’m after some advice, I’m currently in a fixed rate with EDF for gas and electricity until June 22…. Should I consider paying more for the next few months until then? I was astounded to see that my monthly direct debit is predicted to more double from June, based in the standard variable rates as they currently stand. I currently pay £104 and predicted monthly payment is £228! 😨

If you do want to pay a bit extra I would put it in premium bonds or a separate saving account don't give it to the energy company to earn interest on unless you wouldn't be able to stop yourself spending your savings.0

How would you pay extra for the two payments in April and May. If you pay an additional 60£ both times that will give you an extra 120£ credit and would reduce your direct debit over the next 12 month by just 10£ per month.
