Hi, Quick Question how do you open the account online and choose the Childs branch ?, I have a RBS account and when I go to open another account it just allocates the new account to the same branch sort code as my existing account and I don't see a way to choose the branch you want ?.

Have you read through this thread ?(I'm not sure if it helps or not, as I've not read through it all - I'm one of those who'se never understood the fascination with branding, design of cards etc....)

Yes I did thanks, but it doesn't help, its also nothing to do with branding etc.0 -
Somebody on this site had a special link/URL which took you to a slightly different application form, which allowed you to select your preferred branch. I believe you then needed to enter the Child & Co sort code 15-80-00.
You might be able to find the special link if you search through the RBS/Child & Co posts on the forum.1 -

Hi, Just a quick update, and also a few questions for anyone who has also done this.
Got an email to upload passports and had to e-sign the paper work (Even though I already hold a RBS Account).
Account opened the next day and got emails etc., told account would be available on line within 24 hrs., but the strange things is:
It does not appear on the RBS app or online banking with my other accounts well after the 24 hrs. ?.
The customer number they quote on the emails is not my one and certainly does not resemble any date of birth ?.
All emails are all RBS branded and makes no mention of Child & Co, and one of them said my New Debit Mastercard is on the way (I thought child was visa ?).
Thanks.

Emails are always RBS branded - the only things which are (sometimes) Child & Co branded are letters, statements, cards and chequebooks.
It sounds like RBS has created a new profile for you, did you use the same email address, phone number and address that they have on file?
I imagine they will merge them for you if you ask. Be prepared to have an answer to the questions 'why did you sign up for an account with that online form' and 'why did you choose Child & Co rather than your normal branch or one closer to you?'.
Mastercard Debit could be one of three things:- some static copy was changed from 'Visa' to 'Mastercard' even though some debit cards are still issued as Visas for a short period
- Child & Co Visa Debit is no longer issued
- you didn't pass the internal credit check meaning you won't be issued with a card which works offline - historically this meant you were sent a standard RBS branded card instead of a Child & Co one (but you'd still get Child & Co branded paperwork).

Child & Co cards always come attached to an RBS Premier letter, one of the peculiarities of the whole thing.0
