NowTV international call rate massive increase from 1 May 2022

There is going to be a massive hike on international call rates i.e. Europe from the 1st of May -  no apology for the increase just a message stating these are the new rates is there anything we can do?  My mother calls Ireland which at the moment costs 2p per minute this is being increased to 19p per minute

If your mother cuts down the length of her calls to Ireland by roughly 90% she won't notice any difference in the cost.

You could get your mother a 1pmobile.com sim card as that costs 9ppm at the moment.(Top up required)

There maybe other options for your mother to call Ireland out there and i am sure somebody will be along soon to advise you.

I call my family on Face Time now, using the interweb! That is the cheapest. Cannot remember last time I used a landline!

That's all very well but I need to call businesses in Spain sometimes and the rate has shot up from 2p per minute to 22p per minute. Can't do anything about it though, they are still the cheapest Broadband option for us.
