Just got my latest bill and spotted they estimated the reading when they changed rates.
I knew I had read the meter and had confirmation but couldn't find readings or photos.
It turns out British Gas changed their rates on 30th May not 1st April. Found the readings and photos now.
As it happens the estimates look reasonable which makes a change.
The update to the direct debit is within reason too.
