Missing item currys plc

Bought item online from currys using a mix of a currys ecard(£150) and credit card(£50). Item did not arrive. Currys said item was lost in transit. They need 21 days to investigate where item is!! I requested a refund but currys refused as item has been marked as dispatched. They also refused to send out a replacement. 
My question is this, can my credit card company help me recover all of the money or just the amount spent on it? Also, do I have any rights under distance selling - currys refused to accept this as a reason to cancel?

What date did you order?

You need to give it a reasonable amount of time before you push for a refund as it might still show up.

I ordered it on the 17 march with next day delivery. It's a birthday present so need it here this week.

Depending on card used
Visa is 15 days for non receipt. Although can be done sooner, but needs proof from you & that usually will take up the same. amount of time.
Mastercard is 30.

You also have to factor in Currys can reject so you can be redebited.
