Billed Wrong Eon no Support from them
I have been querying my bills for some time as I work away and not home much at all.
My friends who use eon and home alot of the time are paying a lot less than me and with larger houses.
I didn’t understand why mine were so high.
I didn’t really have the time to work on it until now and My price is due to go up so I studied my reads in the gas usage

Eon bills state I used 12084kwh in the last 12 months.
This is incorrect .
I added all my reads up I only actually used 1044 kWh. These reads are from my smart meter on my account.
I have called to query this in the past but no help given and they just said that’s what it was!
Can you please help in anyway as to what is going on and how this is wrong and how to arrange a refund and correct my usage as this has made me suffer financially already.
they have upped my charges now but the usage is incorrect and they won’t take in this information.
I live in a 2 bed terrace house and spend around 3 Evenings only in my home and have a new boule and a gas cooked only.
my bills now from 1st April are £180 a month.
I want resolving but no one will help.

Welcome to the forum. Please let us know your smart meter readings and how you have converted them from cubic metres to kilowatt hours.Note that 12000kWh is quite a normal annual gas use while 1000 is very low indeed.N. .... And are Eon using estimated readings, or actual readings from the meter ?Should be a latter (e.g. A, C, E) next to the reading on your bill. Her courage will change the world.

Actual as it’s smart

Trinab85 said:Actual as it’s smartExcellent, thank you.If your smart gas meter recorded a consumption of 1044 units, you should note that those are cubic metres of gas. A cubic metre of gas however contains rather more than one kilowatt-hour of energy, so convert cubic metres of gas into kWh you need to do a bit of multiplication. There's a detailed method that you'll see on your gas bill (could you share it with us, please?) but for a rough estimate you can multiply by 11.2.1044 x 11.2 = 11693kWh. I did say this was a rough calculation so it seems likely that E.ON's bill for 12084kWh is correct.Once you share your meter readings (and ideally your bill) we can make a better calculation.N. 12000 KWh is a very typical gas consumption which if on a fixed tariff last year would have cost you about £400
What about your electric ? If that is also typical at 3000 KWh that would have cost you about £500
ie about £900 a year
Doubling after April is quite possible to £1800 (£150 a month) so the £190 is not far out
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0
