Why were you unable to travel?

    Did you have travel insurance?

You would need to read the terms and conditions of your contract.
Usually if you do not contact the company to reschedule prior to departure you would be classed as a no-show.
Cancelling on the day would usually result in full loss.
Read your travel insurance policy to see whether it covers the reason you could not travel and what information you need to make a claim. eg if too ill to travel you often need a doctors letter to confirm this

Claim from your travel insurance assuming your reason for not travelling is covered on the policy.  If you chose not to travel, for example due to work commitments, you won't be covered.  There is no reason for the travel company to refund you.

Yeup, claim from your travel insurance.

  • Travel insurance is the only possibility.
One aspect puzzles me - how can you be charged a fee for not checking in (online or in person) on a flight where you don't show up ?
Is this from the Ryanair box of tricks to get more money off punters ?

Does that page mention a fee?  All I can see is a charge if you want to check in at the airport rather than online.

seems strange, the only thing I can think of is that OP went to the airport and having not checked in online had to check in at the desk paying the fee but then subsequently could not board the flight.
Unless the company they booked through charged them upfront for airport checkin.
Maybe they will return with more information

The OP won't be back to confirm the gaps.

or do they  charge the fee by default if you don't book in online, regardless of whether you turn up at the airpot or not.
