Any Insurance policies with effective Covid cover for holidays in the UK?

I haven’t had to make a claim but I’ve found them pretty good (not necessarily the cheapest) but “you get what you pay for”.1

Were you asking about trips abroad or in the UK? When I used Insure & Go (prior to Covid), there was only cover for cancellation of UK trips if you bought an annual policy for Europe or Worldwide.atigger said:I have had an online chat with one of the agents at Insure & Go. I have included the relevant passages below:-Agent: "if you, a member of your family or travelling party, are medically diagnosed with Coronavirus or personally instructed to isolate by an NHS service or medical professional we will cover for cancellation in line with the policy terms and conditions."
Me: "How would you define 'medically diagnosed'? Would a positive PCR test be sufficient?"
Agent: "If you had a positive test and can prove this then this would be fine."
So Insure & Go seem pretty good. Would still have to pay for the PCR and any excess but it is sufficient to meet my needs. Thanks very much lisyloo

Single 7 day policy trip to the U.K. starting end of April. The above cancellation cover was for all policy types - Basic, Silver, Gold and Black.

Insure & go have changed hands since then (but kept the branding). It’s possible it’s changed.katejo said:

I got my policy on Sunday so I know that’s recent.I tend to keep transcripts for any info that I’m relying on financially.0 -
Simple - just don't take a test before you go...0

Won't work if you go on a group package trip with other people (whom you don't already know). If you start sneezing and coughing over them, they won't be happy.beefturnmail said:Simple - just don't take a test before you go...0 -
What do you think they will do?katejo said:

chuck you off the coach of the boat for coughing?
a friend of mine took LFTs for everyone on a small boat trip,
some of the other guests complained to the organiser.
so it’s now a condition in their Ts and Cs that you aren’t allowed to even offer tests to other guests. So people aren’t happy - so what?0 -
won't work if the country you are travelling to legally requires you to test before you travel either.beefturnmail said:Simple - just don't take a test before you go...0 -
