Bristol Airport - ticket from mobile camera (illegally parked)

Hi All - on a recent trip to pick my daughter up at Bristol AIrport around 9:30 pm , I picked up a fine for stopping briefly - my daughter rang me as I enetered the access road and I could see her so I stopped in a side road while she walked over. I noticed some vehicle lights behind me while I waited and noticed it was the camera van as I left.
Now... the camera van was creating more of an obstruction than I was !! I was off the access road but the van had parked ON the access road, creating problems for motorists entering the airport.
I appealed but they have rejected my appeal (naturally)
SO... how can they issue me a fine if they had to break their own rules to catch me ?? Even speed camera vans have to park legally so is this grounds for rejection of this fine ?
Thanks

The exact thing happened when my son picked me up from Bristol airport. Neither of us had been to the airport since before Covid. My flight arrived after dark, I called him to say I was at arrivals and he started to drive along the link road. We realised if I came down the steps he could pause at the zebra crossing.
It was not until he returned me to the airport a week later in daylight that we saw the signs regarding pausing and being fined £100. These were not illuminated when I arrived!
We were then amazed to see the old drop off/pick up car park was now charging £5.
I have written to Bristol Airport expressing my disbelief, I would have thought after such troubles Covid caused to air travel, they would want to welcome everyone back.
Since returning to France I have googled Bristol Airport and see their is a Welcome park in another entrance (I wasn't even aware was there) where you can be dropped off for Free!1 -
These are not fines. Read the NEWBIES thread and all the other VCS airport threads here.

Hily, you need to start your own thread if you require help. We can't answer questions from two posters on the same thread.
Having said that, you both need to determine precisely where the alleged events occurred to see if:-
1) They occurred in the no stopping zone
2) They occurred in the area where VCS are contracted to operate.
The airport is owned by a foreign investment company, details of which can be found on the airport website. You should complain to them, but when I did, I never got a reply.
The airport is managed by a sub-contractor. Again, details can be found on the airport website. You should complain to them, but don't expect them to support the customer. In my case they sided with the unregulated private parking company.
You should also complain to your MP, and ask them to forward your complaint to the MP responsible for the airport.
A copy of the contract can be found in this post. You should check out this thread and others relating to Bristol, Airport. Carefully check the map that is included to determine precisely where your alleged events occurred.

This is a dashcam video I took last year from the airport main entrance on the A38 to the drop-off car park.
