@Bluegreen143 - you can reduce your protein costs by using lots of legumes and pulses. I particularly like to use chickpeas as they can be used as they are, chucked in a curry or made into hummus.

Morning all 😊
I don't think I'm going yo make my target 🙄 although to be fair it was pretty arbitrary and quite a bit lower than we've spending lately, so not entirely realistic.
£140.58 (+£51.09 vouchers)/£150
I reckon I'd do it if it was just me, but Mr Cheery keeps wanting unreasonable things like fruit 🙄😂 Also he's always shopped every day, whereas I would rather never be in a supermarket if I could help it, so it's a bit of a battle of habits sometimes. However, it'll still be much better than previous months. And it does include booze (which I'm keeping a total of separately) and all cleaning stuff etc, as well as bulk purchases.4 -

We're having a little trip away staying in the house of some relatives while they're off on hols so I had the pain of trying to find my way around a supermarket I don't know this morning. It took me ages to find anything! On the plus side they had a really good thing on the way in where they'd made up bags of food bank donations (presumably things they particularly need) that you could just pick up and pay for with your own shopping and then drop at the donation point behind the tills. They were clearly labelled with the price and there were several different prices you could choose from. I picked one up and the things we'll need for some easy meals and spent £34.18.
Now at £87.20/£200 so it's looking good but I have a big shop on order for early next week so it's just as well!
I'm loving reading about how everyone else is doing and getting recipe ideas. Thanks everyone!5 -
I am very late to log my spends but have been sticking with the programme
Still have a budget of £400

Nipped into Mr M at lunchtime for a few items. Came to £10.92. The price rises are really starting to bite now. It's a shame there isn't a large Mr T near me as they seem to be much cheaper.
Total is now £154.71/135
I've put lots of cheaper meals on my May plan, I'll see if that helps. Some of the ones I did this month were a bit more expensive in comparison, e.g. fajitas and a creamy sauce with gnocchi.3 -
Last £5 cash in hand spent, including a huge cauliflower, OS eggs and OS large brown baps. Signature updated. Next bigger (Lidl in town) shop planned for Friday or Saturday.Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.
