TERMS AND CONDITIONS for “Absolute Radio – Community Project – April 2022” (the “Competition”). These terms should be read with our general competition terms at: http://www.bauerlegal.co.uk/radio-competition-terms.html which also apply to this Competition.

 

These terms and conditions (the “Specific Terms”) for the Competition should be read alongside our general competition terms and conditions at: http://www.bauerlegal.co.uk/radio-competition-terms.html (the “General Terms”) which will also apply to this Competition. Where there is any conflict between these Specific Terms and the General Terms, the Specific Terms shall prevail. 

 

1.Entry ROUTES and Costs	Online at https://planetradio.co.uk/absolute-radio/   Online entry is free of charge.   Entries are restricted to one entry per person.
2.COMPETITION MECHANIC AND HOW TO WIN	In order to be eligible to win, entrants must go online to absoluteradio.co.uk and tell us the following details:     Full name and contact details The reasoning behind why a community centre or project they know, work for or are involved in deserves £5000 cash and £5000 Wickes Gift-card towards a renovation   Entries will be judged on how entertaining, compelling, heart-warming and how deserving the entry is. All entries will be judged by the Dave Berry production team, the production manager, and an independent judge.   We will be shortlisting entries from the open of the competition on the 29/03/2022 at 00.01 until the close of the competition online entry period on 06/04/2022 at 09:00. On shortlisting, we will require the nominators to coherently explain their entry and discuss the nomination of the community centre or project they know, work for or are involved in. The entry must be compelling and match the entry that was entered online. The nominators will need to explain in detail the reason why nominated the community centre or project to win £5,000 cash and £5,000 Wickes Gift-card towards a renovation.      On being called during the entry period does not mean that the entrant has won, and they will only win on being told they are the winner* by the production team on 08/04/2022.  On being bought to air as a finalist** from 05/04/2022- 07/04/2022 does not equate to the finalist being the final winner, there will be one winner that will be selected from the finalists, and this will be awarded on-air on 08/04/2022.   All nominators will be called ahead the competition segment being recorded.  If the chosen finalist is unavailable when we come to call them a competition record date, a backup finalist will be chosen in their place and the original finalist may miss out on winning.   The 1st finalist to be picked to record an on-air segment be notified they are selected no later than 12pm on 05/04/2022     The 2nd finalist to be picked to record an on-air segment be notified they are selected no later than 12pm on 06/04/2022   The 3rd finalist to be picked to record an on-air segment be notified they are selected no later than 12pm on 07/04/2022   Each day from Tuesday 5th April until Thursday 7th April the finalist’s segment will be played as live/ or as live if pre-recorded on-air during the Absolute Radio Breakfast show. On Friday 8th April a winner will be selected from the 4 finalists and awarded the winner’s prize on-air.   *The winner is the person who is announced as the final winner by the breakfast team on-air on 08/04/2022. This person will be selected from the three finalists who will be bought to-air from 05/04/2022- 07/04/2022.   **The finalists are the persons who are bought to-air from 05/04/2022- 07/04/2022.   Once the prize has been awarded the winner will be expected to complete the renovation using the prize ensuring their Bauer production manager is informed of the progress at pre-determined stages throughout. This can be discussed after the win and Bauer can work with the winner to ensure this is possible.   After the renovation is completed the Absolute Radio breakfast show will visit the site and perform an outside broadcast of their show at the community centre or project. The visit and outside broadcast date will be discussed after the win ensuring all parties are happy with the date/time decided. The Bauer production manager will be the key contact throughout to answer questions on the logistics of the visit and outside broadcast.
3. ENTRY PERIOD	Start Date and End Date. Pre-registration: from 29/03/2022 at 00.01 (Start Date) to 06/04/2022 at 09:00 (End Date).   The on-air portions of this comp will take place each day from 05/04/2022 until 07/04/2022, between 6am and 10am. The finalists will be given information of when the exact timings will be ahead of being brought to air.   The winner of the competition will be announced on-air on 08/04/2022 during the breakfast show.     Entries received before the Start Date or after the End Date will be invalid.   Winner Announcement. The name and the hometown of the winner(s) (s) will be announced on the Dave Berry Breakfast Show 08/04/2022 between 6am and 10am.
4. ENTRY RESTRICTIONS	Open to UK residents aged 18 years or over on date of entry. Both the Nominator and the Nominee must be 18 years or over on the date of entry Our employees (and their family members) or employees of any company involved in the Competition, including any Prize Provider, are not permitted to enter. We reserve the right to disqualify any entrant or winner who does not comply with any of the eligibility criteria and/or is in breach of these Terms. We reserve the right to repeat the competition mechanic or any stage of it in order to draw a winner that fulfils all of the eligibility criteria and is in compliance with these Specific Terms. If you or any other person at your household has won a prize valued at £500 or more on any Bauer brand in the past 6 months, you nor they are not eligible to enter or win this competition. 5. THE PRIZE	The following prizes will be awarded during the competition:   Winner prize The winner of the competition will win the below prize to spend on the renovation of the community centre or project they nominated: Wickes gift-card worth a total of £5,000 (this will be awarded in 5 x £2,500 gift-cards) £5,000 cash prize to be provided via cheque or bank transfer   If there are any costs to the renovation over and above the prize awarded card these must be covered by the winner. The winner will not be compensated for any additional costs.   Finalist Prize The Finalists who are not selected as the winners will be awarded the below consultation prize: Wickes gift-card worth a total of £1,000   The gift-card element of the prize must be redeemed within 12 months of the date of winning.   The gift-card element of the prize is provided by Wickes, and we are not responsible for any aspect of the Prize, including unsatisfactory quality or late delivery.

 

OTHER CONDITIONS

 

1. DATA PROTECTION. Names, email addresses, and /or telephone numbers (which, for all SMS competitions, will be shared with our SMS provider) will be collected and used to process entries. Winner’s details may be given to a Prize Provider to arrange delivery of the prize.  Your details may remain stored after the End Date but will not be used for marketing unless you have ticked an opt-in box on entry. For SMS entries you automatically consent to receive marketing. You may opt out at any time by texting the word STOP to the relevant text shortcode number. If you have opted in to receive marketing communications, then your details will be used in accordance with the information given when you ticked the opt-in box and gave your consent. 1. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND CONSENTS. By entering this Competition, you are consenting to our use of your entry both to publicise this Competition, our radio station or any other radio station which we own or control. This means that we may use all names, images, descriptions, photographs video footage, and other information, which you have submitted on entry, in any media, without paying you any remuneration therefore and without any time restriction. You also agree that we may film, record or photograph you in connection with the competition and /or the Prize if applicable. We will own these films, recordings or photographs and we may use them publicly, including on the internet, for our radio broadcasts and/or for any promotional purposes. You will also have waived any moral rights or right to payment that you may have had.

 

1. MISCELLANEOUS.

 

• Entries which do not comply with these Specific Terms or the General Competition Terms and Conditions will not be accepted and any entries may be disqualified if we have any reason to suspect that there is a breach of, or non-compliance with, these Specific Terms.
• Where a competition mechanic involves the answering of questions, the correct answers to questions must match our answers to win (or be sufficiently close in our sole reasonable opinion) to be acceptable. In the event of any dispute about any answers given and whether they are correct, we reserve the right to amend what we deem a correct answer, however we are not obliged to, and our decision in either case is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
• We are not responsible if you fail to get through when you call / text to enter, or if you lose signal during a call.
• You are responsible for all costs of entry and where necessary, obtaining the bill payer’s permission. Please refer to your tariff with your network provider for information about charges you may incur for entry into our competitions via any SMS or phone call entry route.
• We accept no liability for network, technical or signal errors, issues or failures experienced by entrants when entering the competition or at any stage during the mechanic of the competition.
• Whilst on-air, you must not make any inappropriate, profane, indecent, harmful or offensive statements. If you do so we reserve the right to take you off-air immediately and disqualify you from the competition. You may be also disqualified from the competition at any time if you are incomprehensible, inaudible or if you appear to be driving, intoxicated or likely to offend listeners. Any prize already won may be withdrawn and re-awarded to another entrant.
• As far as it is lawful to do so we exclude our liability for any losses suffered in connection with the Competition or any element of the Prize.

 

We may cancel, end or suspend the Competition where we are required to do so in circumstances outside our control. We reserve the right to amend these Specific Terms at any stage during the Competition if such amendment is necessary to facilitate the administration of the Competition.
