Morning all. Definitely not sunny today, although yesterday was quite nice. I'm still with the covid but am not too bad, still coughing, sneezing and dizzy. I've pulled something in side so every time I cough or sneeze, I do a bit of screaming...taste and smell have gone a bit too, I had chilli last night but couldn't really taste it, only the heat. Hoping this will go by the end of the week, supposed to be going to see a comedian on Saturday. Doc has referred me to the cardiac clinic for tests, I doubt they'll find anything major but hey ho, stuff to be investigated so I will go along with it. I do feel sometimes though that I am wasting their time when there are others who are worse off. So in other news, my new blender arrives today, coincedentally, my sister has also bought one, we must have kitchen aid telepathy. Now I must find something to cook to use it.Snoozer, what a shock, glad he's better even if he's a virus repository! Your soup gave me a laugh...no tip? B's! Coxy, hope yours goes quickly! Nelski, that's one of the most frustrating things, knowing someone needs help but not knowing where and how to get it, the delay in getting things worked out, the worry about them being so stubborn and generally feeling a bit helpless in the tide of officialdom. I hope they can work something out for her soon, and you must be absolutely cream crackered...Not great when you're not fighting fit either. Don't worry about offloading, the bad comes with the good...I'm sorry, I am not remembering everything but have hazmat suit hugs for the needy and thoughts for the unwell....Take care of yourselves....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi11

Morning all, we have light rain so no building work will happen today or until at least Friday now if the forecasters have got the weather correct. Rain tomorrow and then rain/snow Thurs ⛄ Fine day on Friday.
Yesterday turned out to be a lovely day so I helped clean the car 👼 then later Mr Fix It had a fall, and I thought I was the clumsy one in the family ! Nothing major, but the office chair went from under him ( it's on castors), so now he's sporting a black and blue arm and a small bump on the back of his head. He had to crawl on all fours to get himself up and I now realise that I can't lift him, he's too heavy for me and I have no strength anymore.
Today we are waiting for our meds to be delivered ( hopefully ) so I shall be just pottering about. My stock cupboard needs sorting and I need to check dates as I found a couple of packet coffees that were OOD this morning, think the messy elf had been in the jar I keep them in too 😏 I'll make a shopping list of any low/ missing items ready for my next shopping spree at the same time. Right coffee break over, please give me a push, I feel like I need winding up today 🙁
Hugs to all the poorly ones and the ones looking after their family members.
taff could you have broken a rib while coughing ? It's easily done, go on ask me how I know that ! Hope the cardiac tests come back ok, better to be safe eh ?
Snoozer glad Steve is feeling better.
Ruby glad you had a good break.
Rosy enjoy your lunch even if the drive is a bit 😱
TA my body clock is still upset too, enjoy your lunch and fingers crossed for a good outcome for your friend.
Gers thanks for the crossed fingers, sadly he needs the dry weather for the cementing that needs doing.
Welcome to a new poster, sorry I have forgotten your name, Late something, sorry brain fog.
Take care all

Morning all. Another dull and damp day with rain forecast later and possibly sleet/snow tomorrow. It feels like we're going backwards.
And I'm still catching up with the lost hour's sleep.
I have a sm delivery coming early this afternoon and the advance email tells me I have 2 out of stocks (fair enough, as I'd said I didn't want subs for them) and 2 subs. One of these is fine but the other will be going back. I wanted an ordinary 4 pt semi skimmed milk that lasts us over a week and they're sending a much more expensive organic 500 ml bottle. It's not one I've had before and I was going to keep it to try but, after reading reviews, it seems it goes off very quickly. I'd rather not be pouring it down the drain so will have to get some from the Co-op instead. I'm sure the drivers are used to returns but I bet they get a bit of earache from some customers when deliveries aren't what they wanted.
The BM is doing its thing and I'll be making some soup for the week. Other than that, there's nothing else in particular planned. Dinner tonight is a chicken stir fry & noodles.
My thoughts are with those struggling with health issues, either their own or a loved ones, especially Nels. I've been there, done that, myself so know how you must be feeling. Take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
Rosy, I think it's a fairly new thing because he didn't have it done when he went in last year.
Yorkslass, I gave up buying organic milk because it was going off so much more quickly than the non-organic.
Well the cauliflower soup is adequate, it doesn't taste of much more than the cumin seeds that went into it. Steve will probably eat it, he's not got what I'd call a discerning palate. The leek and potato should be fine as it's a tried and tested recipe.10 -
