Searches Returned - how long to exchange?

Conveyancing can take months.
Be in contact with your solicitor.
Once searches come back they will still need to be reviewed and raise necessary queries.0 -

Best thing I reckon would be to ask your solicitor clearly and plainly where they are in the process and what are the next stages up to completion. We are 2 weeks past deadline to exchange now but my solicitor is still at queries stage, some queries have not been addressed by the seller's solicitor. It has been the longest part of the process so far and still no definitive date when it will end and we can move to exchange.
Are you buying a new build as well as you have the exchange deadline?
The local authority advised that the searches were coming back last Wednesday so I'm frustrated it's taken until I've chased it today for them to be passed to the solicitor from the conveyancer.0 -
The developer will always be pushing pushing pushing you to get exchanged. That's the point when you become contractually bound to by the house. No need to be concerned.0

Our solicitor is happy to go to exchange and doesn't feel that any queries need to be raised.
They've asked me to send them the deposit.
We've not been sent anything to sign in order to exchange though? Does that come after they've had the deposit?0 -
