Breakdown cover for older van in Europe

Just looking for breakdown cover for a 3 week trip to France this summer. I've tried a few on here, AA and RAC will cover but works out about £300. It's a 2005 van and when I put it into other breakdown quotes I usually get the response that they won't cover the vehicle due to it's age! It's never broken down in the 6 years I've had it so a bit frustrating it gets excluded, any vehicle can break down anytime. Anyway, anyone know of a reasonable cover that doesn't cost the earth for older vehicles to save me trawling through the internet and entering my details 20 times .... thanks. PS mwb self-build 3500kg so not a massive vehicle.

Don't look for the cheapest options, choose the more expensive packages and they often do not have age
restrictions. Had no issues calling them out to a 1972 vehicle when the clutch pedal stuck to the floor.
That was the RAC back then, they were willing to take me from the Midlands to Cornwall but I chose to go home
instead and fix it overnight and travel down the following day.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
A friend found the breakdown cover bundled with Nationwide's FlexPlus account was about the only option.

Try Asda who use Britannia, cheaper than going directly to Britannia. ...!

I recently took a 2007 Mercedes SLK to Germany for 8 days - 'rescuemycar.com' covered me, and with topcashback I got 20 percent cashback that's 'confirmed' but not yet 'received' (Once confirmed it's usually just a matter of time). See what a quote works out from them once you take the cashback into account. (I didn't break down in Europe - but hit a pot-hole in London on the way back and took out two tyres - so it's not always about whether your vehicle is in good mechanical condition or not - it's 'pot-luck'! (or in my case 'pot-hole-bad-luck')
