NCP - Autopay enabled on App - however no money debited on second visit different car registered

I parked at the NCP near the Hilton Deansgate Manchester (18th March Departure - 1 day parking) and although i had my Auto pay enabled it doesnt appear they have charged my card.  I havent recieved any fine notice in the post etc and we are on day 10.

This is the second time i have used this car park and previuosly I was in my friends car and his number plate was registered in the app and money was taken for that occassion.  This time around I had the autopay switched on and my car reg registered.

Is there anything proactive I can do before the acidic letters start arriving?

I don't have the NCP app but I do have parking eyes "good to go" which does a similar thing. The only reason I registered with the PE good to go was that I suspected that some of the ANPR cameras were not functioning as the pay terminals were not displaying you VRN and people were having to input their complete VRN's and length of stay. (This was at Preston Hospital).
As I was registered with "good to go" I just drove off and there was quite a few occasions when I didn't get charged  
If your sure the correct VRN is registered it could be that the ANPR either wasn't working or just didn't catch your VRN on this occasion.
