Broken glasses...again

I bought some expensive, for me, specs under a year ago.
Usually did asda 2 for 1 but nothing wrong except the varifocals were on and off ALL THE TIME. eg pushed the asda glasses up and down from my face to my hair. I drive, use computer and these glasses got alot of abuse....fell don't know how many times. Never broke ! I've been wearing glasses for 40 odd years. Broken my glasses maybe once over all that time.
So my new glasses are brilliant , office glasses, can wear them all the time no taking them on /off all therime....just stay on my face. After about 3 months the leg broke. Not the screw attachment different mechanism so had to pay 25 pds to get them fixed. Sent off and returned. Now about 3 months later same thing. Honestly can't remember if it is the same leg.
Where do I stand on consumer rights with this. I think it is unreasonable for them to have broken like this twice within a year. They are great for vision...zeiss glasses but the actual specs are the issue.

Are you talking them off with 1 hand on the side rather than 2 that is the most common cause of joint failure?. I have worn specs with heavy lenses for 35 years and never had an arm fall off.
Occasionally a particular frame will be known for dry solder failure etc and the manfacturer will cover the cost but 9/10 it is people not taking them on and off properly or kids grabbing them off peoples faces etc.
If it is within the 1st 6/12 we would probably replace the frame from stock.
If over that and the patient is insistent it is a manufacturing fault we send it to an independent lab or their opinion and if they agree we replace it but often it comes back as user damage. ( They will give us quite a detailed report i.e. rotary force applied to joint etc ).
If it was a solder repair the 1st time they are never really satisfactory for the long term , I am surprised that they did not replace the frame given it was only 3/12 old.
I think the answer if a new frame and I would go back and speak to them about it1 -
I've worn vari-focals (therefore somewhat heavier lenses) for years, always remove them with one hand and have never had a leg, or any other part, break. I've worn specs in total for over 50 years and never had a leg break. If the leg breaks in a matter of months, and does the same thing twice, I would certainly be complaining that the frames weren't fit for purpose.Coincidentally, a family member has had a similar experience although the frames weren't as new. The leg broke, was replaced but broke again after just a few months. He had never experienced a frame leg breaking before either. Generally poorer construction these days?0

Should have mentioned this pair are from an independent optician, hence the higher price point. Had to use my old glasses while the new glasses were fixed and honestly there is no comparison re comfort, and vision with my new glasses.
I went back to the optician and they replaced them FOC this time. Also informed me that they had infact changed the entire frame and not just the leg the last time and this time. No reports of failures with the same frames elsewhere. So I am wondering if the different leg attachment is the issue. In my old glasses i had the little screw attachment but these are like a little metal insert. Sorry can't think of a better way of describing them. I take my glasses off using both legs as they're neater than my old glasses. Just can't fathom that my old glasses went through the ringer and NEVER broke but these have. Now anxious in case the same thing happens...maybe next step contacts but hate them.0
