In limbo with energy supplier

In August 2021 I switched energy supplier to Avro and 3 days later they stopped trading. I tried several times via Avro and my existing supplier websites to get the switched cancelled within the 14 day cooling off period but could not get a response. Then Octopus was awarded the Avro account so I tried to get them to reject the switch but no luck. Ever since then I have been waiting for Octopus to complete the switch so that I know what I am being charged but they keep telling me they need the account details to be sent over from Avro but I keep telling them Avro don't have any details as the account never got that far. I'm banging my head against a brick wall. I raised a Resolver case but nothing happened. I am now 6 months since my last energy bill and I have no idea what I owe for energy. I'm worried it will be a huge bill that I can't pay. Anyone have any thoughts how to progress this please?

Sounds like a good time to email greg at octopus.energy to escalate. Also if you have meter readings, even if just from when you switched to Avro and now, people here could probably help you estimate what you might owe.

Anyone have any thoughts how to progress this please? You are in the last group to be sorted out as you are one of the ones they have the least information on as you would expect due to the timing. There is no need to be unaware of what your bill is going to be though. You will have the meter reading you gave at the time of the switch to Avro, and you can read your meter now...The Octopus tariff has been available for months now so it isn't hard to calculate the bill, but as above, if you are unsure, just give us the meter readings and which region you are in and we can do the calculations...

I was with Avro 8 months and even after they took over my monthly DD to Octopus is more than my monthly usage. I would, if you have it, use the readings from the 26/9/21 to the present to calculate how much you owe, in my case it took only 64 days for my transfer to Octopus,
If you have smart meters then it's just a matter of multiplying the figure for electric by the present figure taken away from the reading on the 26th. For gas it's a bit more complicated, it's multiply by 1.02264 then by the CV use 40.1 then it will be over rather than under then divide by 3.6 then add the SC number of days i.e 180 for electric and gas this would give a rough estimate of the total money that should be put aside to pay when they finally contact you with regards to your usage, don't forget to regularly update the usage and put more aside to pay the bill.Someone please tell me what money is0
