I like it and understand the pricing of No 1 but No 2 is way over for what it is and it's layout.

In No 2, Beds 1 and 2 have to go down two flights of stairs to the bathroom, which is off the lounge - bleugh and Bed 2 is useless.

If you put your budget and Lewes into Rightmove there are better options which are also cheaper.

I live about 50 miles from Lewes and I almost fell off my chair when I saw the rightmove listings of these little matchbox terraced houses going for £500-600k+.

Assuming you drive, you'll be able to pick up a house twice the size for half the price not far away.

You'd think these houses were in westminster. A 78sqm 4 bed? Nutty.

@Exodi I also thought the 4 bed price was ludicrous and was really shocked to see it go under offer. I wasn't considering the 2 bed until I saw that.

Well the owners purchased it for £500k in Oct 2018, and the owners before for £342,000 in Mar 2016.

Which is a 28% increase in 3.5 years, or an 87% increase over 6 years. No wonder people can't afford houses nowadays!

This is not even counting for the fact the listing is for OIEO £639,950. I don't understand it, you could buy a small mansion for that within a half hour drive!

I would certainly not describe it as in the middle of nowhere
Indeed, I had a good laugh at that too. It's within walking distance of a Waitrose!

Now, this is in the middle of nowhere:

Wouldn’t you be much better off getting something like this, far better value for money and only 0.1m longer walk to the station. Plus it’s already been reduced, so a chance of picking it up for even less than the asking price

Lewes is like a number of other small achingly middle class towns - Berkhamsted and Harpenden spring to mind nearer me. Each road is its own microcosm when it comes to prices. It all depends how much the OP wants to be in this road. If they wanted more square meters per pound they can go in any direction NESW (probably not to Hove though) and find better "value". The question the OP posited is impossible to answer as we don't know their utility value of this particular road (and walking to Waitrose etc.)

I'm only 30 miles away also in a highly desirable area and you can get a 3+ bed detached house with a garage for that plus I'm also only 1 hour 20 minutes from London!  (plus I can walk to Waitrose too).

Personally I'd look elsewhere as you can get plenty more for your money in the same area

Neither would do me.  No front garden, no off road parking, how are you going to charge your EV?
    What EV?
Most people who own a car now are unlikely to own a pure electric vehicle.
Remember, the 2040 date is the SALE of NEW diesel and petrol cars.  Used ones will be around for many, many years.
