GERS the underground street in our little town nowhere near compares to the Edinburgh ones! Just one small section on top of which was built a lovely Edwardian arcade (now independent little shops) and a temperance hotel (now flats) I forgot to mention earlier though that there is also evidence of a brothel down there! The local history society occasionally has an evening meeting down there and swear they saw what could have been one of the ladies providing the service sashaying down the corridor!! The tours are not a regular thing, just over a couple of weekends a year, and no charge. As you can imagine they are much in demand and tickets snapped up within minutes. We were lucky to get ours."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12

Morning all,TA your underground visit sounded really interesting.Gers we spotted a huge random clump of primulas on the side of the hill in front of us, no idea how they got there cos it's very rough grass- very cheering thoughThese colds seem to be lasting a long time, get well soon everyone.Nelski- sending big hugs, good to see you posting.Hope DIL improves soon Poppy.I need to pop to town for a few bits as I forgot to order my veg box last week. Not sure about tea, there is quite a bit of the pork tenderloin left but I don't know whether to freeze it, DH isn't too fond of the same thing 2 days running- doesn't bother meTake care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Hi everyone,
Ooh poppy, that sounds nasty. A good friend was sent away from A & E a few weeks ago and by the time she returned her appendix had burst leading to a huge operation and long recuperation for her.
Steve is on the mend, apart from the stitches you wouldn't know what had happened. He tried to inform DVLA today but the condition he was told he might have isn't on their form and when he googled the DVLA site said they didn't need to know about the left sided version but he was told his was right side which it didn't mention. We've decided to leave it till it's confirmed but he won't be driving at all just in case. Hopefully he'll get an appointment for the test in the next week or so.
I didn't see either of my kids in person yesterday but that was ok because I only saw them for my birthday last weekend.
Just listening to Steve's conversation and it seems like he will be having the echocardiogram tomorrow so things are progressing, hopefully we'll have some answers soon.

Nelski - I hope that you can keep your strength up. Hospitals always want beds so try to discharge patients though patients mostly need more care sorted out beforehand and great spot about the ABs. Your post isn't miserable, it's what we're here for.TA - your wee underground street sounds really good, it's not the size that counts! We seem to have cross-posted.Snoozer - good news about Steve, thanks for letting us know. my fingers are crossed.I've been faffing around, now must get on the road.14

Hello all, I had a sleepless night as my mind was in overdrive and I couldn't settle so I'll be fit for nothing today. I had a delivery of a beautiful m&s bouquet 🎉 ( mainly peachy/pink coloured roses ) and Belgian chocs arrive yesterday, a pressie from DD and then a lovely visit from her and our DGC in the afternoon. I gave the DGC their Easter eggs and some money each, bit early I know but they will be away on holiday at Easter.
The dw is on but no builder (sigh) so today will be a quiet day, just the bins need to go out ready for tomorrow as it's the first green waste collection of the year and then tea to cook...... pie and chips, can't remember if it's steak, steak and kidney or mince beef so that will be a surprise !
Nels nice to see you, I hope you can get something satisfactory sorted out for your Mum.
poppy I hope DiL gets the help she needs.
Take care all, stay safe

Good morning all, dull first thing, but seems to be getting brighter. Felt very ropey all yesterday and did nothing but read and sleep, just lack of sleep and stress I think as I am fine today and have been putting some stuff away from the holiday and a little tidying.
Snoozer good news about Steve's appointment.
Nelski - not moaning at all, just sharing with caring (virtual) friends, sorry that everything is so difficult to arrange, it must be so hard having to bear the brunt of it.
Gers pleased that your garden is giving you pleasure.

Hello again
Sadly we've decided the new wheelchair is too much for mam to manage. She's too nervous of it - she wasn't too bad till we got to M and S then she hit a flower display and ran over my foot! And then the cafe was closed as they didn't have enough staff! So it was slowly back home for a cuppa.
Dad doesn't seem to mind too much - he can still use his older electric wheelchair he has to control to sit out the front when the sun is shining - but can't go any further than the front of the house.
I've going to hoover after lunch then be lazy with yesterday's paper x12 -
Hi again and virtual hugs for those in need.
My eldest DD Shelley who is in isolation with her OH down in Deal in their caravan instead of in NYC on holiday has caught the blooming virus from him so they are both isolating at the moment
Luckily they have plenty of food in store down there so no need to go out anywhere.
But as the weather has brightened up and she said they are sitting outside in the sun reading.
Her OH had it worse (don't men always ) but DD said she's just got a snuffly nose at the moment Good job they are both in the UK and not in the USA though at least. My grandson (their son Danny and wife ) have decided they will come over for a month in August so that will be nice (he can work anywhere there is wi-fi with his job)
Best of all the sun has finally made an appearance at last and the fog has burned off
Chin up everyone lighter evenings ahead at least

Nelski, somehow I missed your post, it's a strain visiting even when you have good mobility and your own transport so it must be exhausting for you, please don't think you are moaning. I hope they can sort out a decent package for your mum.
Steve is at the Dr having an ecg and getting a referral letter for the appointment tomorrow. We had a video call with his best friend who we were supposed to be meeting on Wednesday in Skipton, hopefully we will be able to rearrange in the not too distant future.
dp1, what a shame about the wheelchair.
I hope all the Covid sufferers recover well. Coxy, please don't work if you don't feel up to it. That's the downside about working from home people seem to think they should be working when they are ill. Chris and Crystal both worked through Covid for the most part.9 -
Better weather here today than yesterday but not a patch on last week.
I have two orders for the knitted chick creme egg covers and more enquiries - can't knit them fast enough. Dd has taken some Easter makes into school with her to hopefully sell.
