Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light, dry underfoot - forecast is for a decent day - we'll see. I have wash load ready to peg out on the line, got a load line dried yesterday.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and brekkie whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Lunch yesterday was chips then roast pork last night for dinner - was very nice. Tonight will be fish and rice.
Back to work today - hoping I've not been left with chaos!
Keep safe and well x

Morning all! Finishing a week of nights this morning, so I'm very excited. Will get up about midday for lunch (probably, GF bacon sandwiches, my treat for when I finish nights) and then go for a run before picking up DD.Dinner tonight, probably fish and chips from the freezer"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!"15

Morning All
Dark this morning! Lovely to have another hours daylight but I do like light mornings. I had a good nights sleep so am feeling a bit better this morning. This cold is certainly hanging on.
Got a few jobs done yesterday (slowly), tidied up the garden and ended up sat out reading for a couple of hours. DD had invited me for a takeaway but I really didn't have the energy to get showered and go over there. I just have this week at work then a 2 week holiday, I feel I really need it! My neighbour had her carpet cleaner out so I took the hall rug over so it could have a good wash, it was dry in no time.
Hope everyone has had a good weekend and enjoyed some sunshine and the poorlies are feeling better.
Happy Monday, take care. XX14 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. What a miserable and gloomy start to the day it is after we have been spoiled by the early summer sun over the last week. I won't be sitting out reading today that's for sure!
My underground visit yesterday was really interesting and the "mill worker" who was our guide was actually a social historian so was able to tell us lots of facts about life in our town in Victorian times. It's hard to describe the underground street but thanks to some "appliances" and tools left down there it seems to have consisted of a laundry, blacksmith, bakery, horse stabling, a few shops and some dwellings. Not the height of luxury but the way it was in those days.
Well I suppose I ought to once again start tackling neglected jobs (postponed thanks to the sunshine!) I might start with the windows.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all our poorlies and poorly loved ones. As well as the convalescing. Thinking of NELS, NRA and POPPY. Take care one and all, stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"14 -
Morning folks.Yesterday was another lovely day. I did a big white washing load which dried quickly on the line whilst I pottered around the back garden. The clematis got another wee haircut, just the old woody parts and I cleared patches of old leaves from around some beautiful purple fritillaries I didn't know I had. It was a joy to see them, they're so delicate. After my exertions 🤣 I sat out in the sun listening to some chapters of my audio book and sipping on a glass of wine.Once the sun moved behind the roof I did some domestic work. Now I have a huge pan of lentil soup and another of roasted peppers, it took an awful lot of chopping. Some of the soup will go in the freezer for a later week, the vegetables needed to be used up.Today I have to post a parcel back to Glasgow. The optician changed my contact lenses prescription so I have some unneeded lenses, rather than waste them I'm sending them back. Then there's more scanning to get on with though, if the sun comes out I'll be drawn back outside. There's some chitting potatoes to plant but the weather forecast isn't good for later in the week so I may leave them until after the cold spell.Snoozer - I hope that Steve is taking things easy.TA. - please tell us about your underground adventure, it sounds fascinating. Edinburgh has something similar.Thoughts go out to all our poorlies and families. Happy Monday to all.16

Morning everyone and thanks for the start nmlc.
Misty start here. I have the first of two towel loads in the washer and will need to use the TD today unless things brighten up. Still have the 'rona and have now lost taste and smell. Getting fed up of not being able to go anywhere, so hoping things improve over the next day or so.
I will attempt to work today - I know there's a pre-board meeting I'm secretariat for (board meeting tomorrow) so will gird my loins for that one, along with whatever came in on Friday that I missed as was comatose on the sofa. Roll on Friday when I have two weeks off.
Hope all those that mother had a good day yesterday. I had a couple of plants (one indoor and one outdoor) plus some bath soak and a recipe book from my 3. All socially distanced!
Have a good day everyone,

Morning everyone
Just having breakfast then I'm going down to mam and dads to walk along to M and S cafe with them. Dad can no longer manage his electric wheelchair - He came off the kerb several times last week and got stuck in some gravel - luckily a lady helped him. So they've got one for a trial which mam has to control from the back - she's been practising - so I've been enlisted for the trial run. I'm not too sure, so fingers crossed please.
Other than that a lazy day planned. We had lovely sunshine all day yesterday - I was outside all afternoon. Snow forecast for Wednesday!
Hope everyone is ok. Take care x15 -
Hope things improve soon for you Coxy11
just had a phone call from local son. They have a sickness bug in the family but his wife has been ill for a week now and is having severe stomach cramps. Suggested they ring 111 and they have in turn emailed the GP to say she must be seen within 2 Hours.
Going to make lentil soup soon which should last a few days.
Best wishes everyone14 -
Morning
Lot colder here today
Apologies again for not keeping all my friends on here updated but my head has been all over the place and sleep has been a rare memory. Visiting mum as much as I can which is a trauma to get there and back and very expensive taxis.
Tough couple of weeks where I seem to be fighting to get the best care for mum against a tide of their urgency to discharge as soon as they can but I’m hoping things are on the up she certainly looks more like herself now. Went to see her yesterday and she ate a 3 course lunch followed by some chocolates for mothers day. Great news but I’m not convinced she would continue back at home. They brought her an antibiotic to take with her lunch. She hid it in a tissue as she doesn’t like taking pills! I told her nurse so hopefully they will watch her now. Her mobility is pretty poor so she also needs rehab/physio for a while imo.
Anyway today will be much the same they have moved her to a holding ward till they can get her a care package arranged. Nothing much more to report.
I read when I can and I know we have a few covid sufferers and poor snoozers Steve fall hope they can find the reason soon. Hope there is better news for NRA and her Dad.
what a miserable post sorry for that I will keep on as much as I can so have a good day all.

Good morning all,
now come on who's got the sunshine ? it was here on Saturday and yesterday it vanished and today its blooming foggy and more like November. Will who ever has it please return it ASAP to north Kent
Hope all the Mums had a good Mothering Sunday. I had a lovely one, thoroughly spoilt by my two DDs bless them
Just having a cuppa before tackling some hoovering in the sitting room. No food shopping to buy until Friday at the latest, will make do with what I have in the freezer and cupboards. I have done pretty well this month by staying as clear as possible from the supermarkets, which means I have extra to roll over to my April budget
Every little helps I guess
DGS Ben came home to see his Mum yesterday for the day and it was lovely to see him He is knee deep in SATS at his primary school in north London and said it was great to have a break from lesson plans. We kept it quiet that he was coming home as a surprise for her and she was delighted to see him as he's not been home since Christmas.
I hope everyone had a good weekend, and hugs to the poorlies and sad, and Happy Birthday wishes to those celebrating today.
Onwards and upwards chums
JackieO xx
