Hi all, i have a Lenovo lappy which functions and is quite a few years old. I've repaired it a few times but its reached the stage where the laptop screen /lid is hanging by a thread due to fractured hinges/fractured base casing. Short of aralditing a couple of gate hinges across the lid and the base, it looks like ill have to replace it.
The current lappy has an Intel pentium 2020M @2.4Ghz x 2 processor with built in Intel HD2500(IVB-GT1) grpahics to give you an idea of its vintage.
The screen is plenty bright enough for me with decent colours.
What i need is a decent replacement lappy that doesnt cost a fortune but the critical part is that the screen needs to be bright with clear sharp colours.
I'm seeing a lot of screen technology terms batted about and i dont really know which is the best.
I had homed in to a replacement lenovo lappy in john lewis but when i went to see it in store, the screen was rubbish. Even on its highest setting it seemed less than bright enough and colours washed out..
Any thoughts welcome
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

Screen brightness is measured in NITS. So you need to find one with a NITS rating equal or higher than the one you have.0

Did you look at any others when in John Lewis, that had preferable screens (even if not on your target list).
As above, brightness in NITS is the starting metric, but screen type and build can make a big difference to colour definition and clarity.
Also John Lewis probably has significantly different lighting to your expected environment.0 -
Which model Lenovo laptop is it you have at the moment? T420 or something similar?0
