Hi there

I'm not on UC myself however I'm asking this for the following reasons

My parents rent a house to someone on UC, and I've put a room on spare room in anticipation for my own house going through the solicitors and they're on UC too. They'd be lodgers in my house, and as for my parents they have tenants in a different house

Are there any grants available to make houses more energy efficient? Also is there a cut off in terms of your EPC grade too? Ie: if you've already got an EPC C house, I guess you can't get any grants?

As your parents are running a business letting out a house, its not likely that there would be any grants available to them to improve the energy efficiency of the property. One would hope that the tenancy agreement makes the tenants responsible for the energy bills. As regards your own house, any grant schemes would be applicable to you as the owner, not to your tenant. No doubt your solicitor will advise you on what arrangements to make for your lodger to contribute to energy bills.

They do indeed pay for the bills themselves. I thought that people on UC could get grants if they have landlord approval?
