I want to dispose an old 32" LCD TV.

I've seen there are free services such as WEEECHARITY that offer a free UK collection service for electrical equipment. Has anyone here used such a service? If so, what is the waiting time like? I'm wondering why people would pay for the council to remove a large item if such a service is free.

Alternatively, drop it at the local tip. Offer it on Freecycle, Gumtree, or, Facebook marketplace.
a 32" tv is not really a 'large item'.

Around here I'd just leave it out the front of the house, it won't be there long.

Ahem, does it work? That makes quite a difference.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Around here it would be joined by a dismantled kitchen, a soggy mattress and a bald Christmas tree inside an hour.

Our recycling centre, which is ten miles away takes TV's (and almost anything else come to that) but you have to take it there yourself.

If you want stuff collected then there's a collection charge, that's why stuff ends up in hedges, ditches and farm gateways because people are too bone idle or wont pay..

If you live in a high rise just lob it out the window - seems to be the done thing.
