Camera Nikon D3300 ~ error fault

Hi,
We have a Nikon D3300 camera and it keeps coming up with the following error fault:-
Memory card cannot be used. Card may be damaged insert another card
We have got a new card and the same fault is coming up.
Can anyone suggest what we need to do, or does the camera need to go off to a repair type place.
