Morning folks, thanks for starting us off Scarlet. Yes, I can well imagine the soft play scene, well done for surviving it.Breakfast with Alan was lovely, long chats and great food. The day was glorious too so no need for jackets. Later on I picked up my friend for the drive home. The sun made us feel in a holiday mood 😀 so we took several detours to check out various places along the way which was such a nice thing to do. Usually I'd just point my car towards home and drive. By the time I got to my door the sunset over Jura was spectacular so I stood outside for a few minutes to soak it in, a stunning end to a highly enjoyable few days away. 🎉As for my hip wonkiness - yes, it seems to have been caused by over-compensating for the new hip. It still surprises me. Now I'll be doing more exercises for the left hip. Thanks for all the reassurances about my eyes, that's more of a worry than my hip right now so it's good to know that any deterioration should be slow. My great grandmother went blind and my mother had operations on both eyes.Today is another 'first without mum' day, only Easter to finish off the cycle of tough days, I'll think of the good times.Happy Mothering Sunday to all mums. 💕15

Lovely Mother’s Day lunch with my sons and their family’s and the greenhouse had a quick sort out to accommodate a few plants and a big container moved so it is more accessible for herb a and salad
planting. Weather forecast predicts a cold snap so will hold off planting for now.

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET for starting us off. After four days of wall to wall sunshine we are forecast intermittent sunny spells and not quite as warm. Oh well it was a lovely bonus while it lasted and we have snow to look forward to (NOT!) midweek!!
I survived my 2nd booster yesterday with no ill after effects other than a slightly tender arm. But crikey the hospital was busy. It was supposed to be appointment only for over 75s and clinically vulnerable but the council advertised it as a walk in clinic!! It wasn't too bad when I arrived but by the time I left the queue went way up the car park!
Today I am going underground!! DS, his DP and I are booked in for a tour of the underground Victorian street in town. Tours are very infrequent so we are very lucky as tickets are snapped up as quickly as advertised. Nobody knew about this street until 2004 when workmen discovered it! It remains just as it was abandoned with shops, blacksmiths and houses. In Edwardian times a new posh shopping arcade was built on top of it and the street was left intact and unrecorded.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all our poorlies and poorly loved ones. SNOOZER what a shock for you. I hope Steve recovers well. (And if you are still planning on coming up to TA Land then bring your winter woollies!!) Take care one and all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"16 -
Hi everyone,
I think we are going to give it a miss TA. Steve has to have his Frankenstein stitches out at the end of the week and he needs to get going sorting out follow up tests. We were also supposed to be going away the following week in the van but as he can't drive now that will be out the window.
I finally picked him up at 8pm last night. They'd given him a thorough going over though and a maxillo-facial surgeon stitched the gash so hopefully the scar won't be too bad. He was signed up for a trial comparing soluble and non-soluble stitch outcomes. He got the non-soluble.
Today we will be doing very little. Chris has said he will come over but we were Facetiming last night and Crystal looked very tired so I said not to bother if he wanted to drive Crystal to see her mum, rather than driving herself.
Gers, and anyone else remembering a mum today, I hope it brings happy memories.
Have a good day everyone.15 -
Morning All
It was lovely and clear earlier but we now have fog. Hope it clears soon as I have washing to hang out.
What a shock for you all Snoozer, hope Steve is recovering well.
So good to hear you had such a good time Gers, bet that sunset was spectatular.
Enjoy your trip today TA, sounds really good.
Lovely lunch out yesterday, good food and great company, Glasgow was at it's finest apart from the peely wally Scots out in shorts! Got home about 5pm so just had a chilled evening followed by a decent nights sleep for a change.
Shopping to do today then some gardening, DD came yesterday to split some of my ornamental grasses for her garden. My new greenhouse should arrive next week so it will be all systems go!
Take care. XX12 -
Morning everyone,
Just catching up on yesterday's thread.
Glad you had a good day in Glasgow Gers and a safe journey back.
Sorry to hear about Steve's accident snoozer - what a worry for you. Glad he is home and sorting out the follow ups necessary.
Such sad news for your Holly JackieO, how tragic x
Sorry to hear about dear pooch maddiemay – it’s never easy x
That’s a decent total Florenceem – you must be exhausted though.
TA - that sounds a lovely day out, enjoy!
I did some gardening with DH yesterday as it was a glorious day. Bit damp here this morning so will be a day indoors doing housework. I still have the annoying cough and bunged up head, but the fatigue has gone thank goodness.
It’s DH’s birthday today along with Mother’s Day. Unfortunately, I can’t go anywhere so DH will need to hunt and gather for our dinner plus the weeks’ food shop. I have arranged a gift to be delivered to my Mum, and DH will visit his Mum next weekend.
Have a good day everyone,
Coxy

Morning everyone hugs to all that need them and happy Mothering Sunday we had a fab night at the gospel choir last night I didn’t think it would be my type of thing but it was so different to what I expected and there voices WOW it was a lovely friendly atmosphere and they did a lot of soul music as well as gospel musicians were also fantastic and Si King from the hairy bikers sat right behind us he chatted to a few people and he had a few selfies with people and I got the impression he followed this choir as a few of them hugged him and the children went to him but they are from Newcastle so he probably does know them of course I could have crawled under a rock when my hubby said to him I hope you have come to do the pie and peas for half time he roared with laughter thankfully.I do feel a bit better today but this cold is taking it’s time shifting I am going to enjoy the last of the sunshine today and worry about the housework next week when it’s got to be a cold snap thinking of all the poorlies have a good day everyone whatever you are doing11

Good morning, thank you for the new thread Scarlett - you did well to survive yesterday, quiet day today?
Snoozer so pleased to read that Steve is all sewn up and back home.
Gers, and all who have lost their DMs - hugs.
Poppy, Camelot, Izzie pleased that you had a good time yesterday.
Coxy I hope that your DH has a good birthday and that he raids the shops satisfactorily.
TA the lost street sounds absolutely fascinating, have a good time.
Time for some food I think, only just got up after a morning nap, DH has had a string of broken sleeps getting up in the night with pooch so I volunteered to sleep in the chair and keep her downstairs with me while he tried to catch back. I dozed a lot and read a large chunk of my book, but was shattered come 06:45 BST.
Sun has just popped his hat on, although I gather if is chilly, hoping to do some more fettling in the garden today and throw some bits in the WM again.
Take care, hugs and spoons all.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)12 -
Morning all, well despite the forecast being for cloudy weather we have bright blue skies and not a cloud in sight ! I have the wm going again and the washing will be hung out when it's finished. I decided to make a sponge yesterday as DD & co are coming up today. Sadly my first attempt was binned as it was flat as a pancake, you could have played frisbee with it 😂 but the second attempt rose better. I don't normally have any problems with cake making, like Scarlet I have made lots of birthday cakes over the years with no issues, so I think it's time for a new cooker. I have been threatening to get another for a while as it's been playing up, but as I haven't been using it much I haven't bothered, but now I think it's had it's day, lots of them as I worked out it's about 25 years old 😱 How time flies !
I rang Dad last night and he was much better and very talkative, so I think my stern words got through to him, thank goodness.
Nothing will be done today so I'm going to put my feet up and I think I'll get another jigsaw started, I believe I have 2 new ones untouched 😊 That will keep me amused and out of mischief.
Happy Mother's Day or Happy Sunday to everyone today. Hope you enjoy your day whatever you have in store. Hugs to those MIA, poorly or taking care of loved ones.
Take care all

Morning all. As forecast, it's a dull start to the day but the sun is trying to get out and it's dry and calm.
I'm pleased you had a good trip to Glasgow, Gers, and got home safely.
Your underground tour sounds fab, TA. Enjoy.
Such a shame about having to cancel your planned trips, snoozer. At least Steve is patched up and back home.
Glad the gospel choir exceeded your expectations, Izzy.
I've not got anything in particular planned for today other than the usual daily bits and bobs so will go with the flow and do/not do whatever. Dinner today is lamb with mash, swede and Yorks puds. Not sure about afters, maybe fruit & yogurt.
Enjoy the day all, take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9
