UPVC front door

Please can anyone recommend a supplier from whom a reasonably priced door could be purchased?

Why are these things so expensive?

I found a website which said from £345 inc VAT but lo and behold they are all in the region of £600!

Thank you.

I've just had a ballpark quote of £650 for a uPVC door (also had one bunch quote £1250...).
Whilst the basic cost may be as low as £345, you also need to add in the cost of fitting, Building Regs sign-off (FENSA or equiv certification), plus any insurance back guarantees. Then on top of that is extras that might crop up - e.g. Lintel for the outer leaf if the door frame is original and it is an old property.

You are not going to get much lower unless you install it yourself. and say £150 for fitting. And cheap plac es would be exc vat and £350 seems reasonable for bare minimum these days so....

    £350 + vat + fitting = £570. Near enough.

As for a place, you will get nothing without a location and the nationals are places to avoid.

For 'location', all we need is town/city, nothing that'll allow me to track you down...

For that price you may as well get a decent composite door supplied and fitted. Although my point of reference is 2021, so prices may well have shot up since then.

If you get decent draught excluders fitted, are the original wooden doors all that bad?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

They were quoting £1450 for composite.
uPVC, along with just about all building materials, has increased in price. Last guy to come round to quote tells me he has just had notice of another 10% increase.

I currently estimate £1k for a door fitted.  That seems to be the going rate.

Maybe your expectations of how much a decent door is . is too low . I am north west England and fit upvc doors for around £700/750 why because they cost me supply only around 400 to buy
