Hi.
I just installed W7 on a PC but it struggles with any payments and I have to jump thru hoops to get on to some sites.
Its a 3i machine so should be quite nippy but it is struggling in some areas and I suspect that there are security updates needed.
Since Microsoft no longer support this OS, where can I get the required security updates to get it to work properly?
TIA

Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.

Any reason you installed Windows 7 and what version (Home / Pro / Enterprise)?
Upgrade to Windows 10 as Windows 7 only gets very rare security updates now and no longer a secure operating system. Exception being if you have an ESU subscription where they do still provide some updates.
There are ways to get Windows 10 upgrade free so no real reason not to if the machine is capable.1 -
Hi,
I prefer W7. The version I am using is The Pro version.

Unless you have paid for the ESU programme your are stuffed.1

The problems with payments etc will only get worse. Windows 7 is no longer supported except for some businesses who pay a lot and even this will end soon. You might want to consider upgrading to Windows 10 and getting a piece of software which makes it look like Windows 7.1

Might have to bite the bullet then, i guess.
Hated leaving XP too.
Can you get an activated Windows 10 pro for free still?"Unhappiness is not knowing what we want, and killing ourselves to get it."Post Count: 4,111 Thanked 3,111 Times in 1,111 Posts (Actual figures as they once were))Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.0 -
If you have a genuine windows 7 pro licence then you can get windows 10 pro for free still. It’s best to do a clean install rather than an upgrade if possible.rizla01 said:Might have to bite the bullet then, i guess.

Microsoft provide genuine, free keys for all versions including PRO. You can install using these keys but they will not activate - they are 'try before you buy' keys
You can download a W10 ISO and do a clean install of PRO using the PRO key. If you like it, change the product key to your W7 key and see if it activates
keys here (these are not pirate keys they are microsoft public domain keys)
