You'd think so wouldn't you. Problem is the SS have to agree to it and from their viewpoint it's cheaper for me to stay at home, as they would have to pay two people to do my job.
What is realy funny is according to them I am employed as a full time carer just not a paid one:mad:.

Isn't there anything else you can do from home, or is the caring full time?

When my sister lost her job she asked for help finding a new one and was told the job centre couldn't help her as she wasn't on benefits.

I thought you could use the Job Centre, or Job Centre Plus even if you're still working, but looking for another job!!

Broken hearted, if you don't mind, may I ask what is wrong with your OH? I have a friend who is a SS, and I could ask her for some advice if I knew the illness.

I appreciate you may not want to say, either pm or please feel free to ignore, but I wish you and your oh the best, I know how difficult things can be caring for someone almost full-time, my father cares for my mother who has had a couples of stokes in the past year, and its difficult being so far away from them, not to be able to help out on the day to day things, and my father is struggling, We are currently awaiting an assessment by SS.

  • Thanks merlot sadly we know what we need and are entitled too, we just never seem to get it. We are pretty much set on coping by ourselves now. Over the years I got very tired bitter and angry now I just want to rebuild my life.
